Like the Elk in about 2009 (I think) when he duelled Phil for that US major, this could be Scotty’s last stand. He’s certainly good enough and hopefully he can win and join the likes of Greg Norman on 2.5 majors and a wonderful reward for 12 months really consistent and strong golf. Good luck Scotty :australia:

This would be one of the all time great results if he’s to get up! :muscle:

nah i’m all about it for a bit of a variety

there’s already 10,000 holes of driver-wedge-putt to watch. it’s good to see them struggle occasionally

Scotty still only one back.

Edit: scrap that, he just dropped back 3 shots.

Spaun, amazing finish, 64 foot putt to win tournament. Only one that didn’t fall apart under those conditions.

It’s interesting to see the list of under par in the last round. (Spaun was 2 over par) It’s a who’s who …Rahm, Schaufele, McIlroy, with only a very small number of randoms…

I got inspired and played The Sands at Torquay today.

I was not ready for the bunkers. At all.

As I understand many bunkers were filled in after the after the first few years of the course opening. Too difficult and they lost a lot of members who had joined after the Geelong Golf Club closed.

That looks primed to try and hit a 4 hybrid out of…

I guess be thankful you weren’t playing Oakmont!

Thankful indeed. I think the suggested 150 would have been on a good day.

They have recently filled in a couple more.

The first 3 holes still had more bunkers than the total at Queens Park.

I need to practice.

I knew they were there. I just wasn’t READY for them.

Lovely Sunday, perfect for a morning at the driving range. Been happy with my progress, am hitting the ball more consistently. Pitching wedge, 9 iron, 7 iron not a problem. 5 iron and above still an issue. I got some ancient clubs (I’ve had them since high school, which was 25 years ago!) and no driver. I’ve been told to get a driver and a hybrid as well.

You could get a hybrid to replace the 5 iron. Will be the fun-est club to hit. Will go massively high and long easily, when compared to trying to grind out a 5 iron

Yeah that’s what I need by the sounds of it. The rest of what I have will be sufficient enough for the time being.

Just hit a few and see what you like. I’ve known people who didn’t like the draw bias of some of the bigger hybrids, but loved the one that they ended up with when they found it.

been consistently hitting in the 90s for a few months now

then today i played the endeavour hills editon of churchill waverley

and, uh, yeah

Could be worse, could have driven an hour for a 7.20 tee time at Gardiners Run only for them to cancel only the first three groups due to frost. Offered to rebook into a slot after 11.30 which was nice of them….
