European Pagan traditions set to seasons in the Northern Hemisphere never travel well nor make sense in the Southern Hemisphere where everything is at the opposite time of the year.
Easter is a spring festival, and the winter solstice in December makes sense in Europe but not here.
Makes me wonder why we donāt adapt the indigenous culture celebrationsā¦

On my personal list of things I donāt give a fark about, Halloween is vying for top position. Luckily I live in an area largely populated by geriatrics like myself, so knocks on the door donāt happen.
Halloween is bad enough, but worse when your grandkids want you to walk around with them.
And even worse when Mrs Fox demands that I go with her to a Day of the Dead Festival next Sunday. Have no idea what it is, but I will be sick that day.
Yet another way to separate the gullible from their money.
Sadly, it appears to be growing in popularity in this country.
It could be a good day out - there is a spirit tasting of tequila and mezcal.
I used to get all uppity about it, but my kids have a great time and it gets them out and about.

Our kids have an awesome day, and so do my wife and I. Also brings kids out of their houses and gets people interacting.

Never partook in trick or treating, but went to some pretty wild Halloween themed parties during my teens and early 20s. Oh, and one last year where I learned that my partying days are well and truly past me now.
