ALSO thanks for the bump. Reminds me.
I want to regularly consume protein again in powdered form but there are ELEVNTY BILLION different brands and types.
I don't want to (read: cannot) GET RIPPED I just want the muscle recovery/build benefits.
Advice?
If you are not needing to be WADA compliant, HP100 is the best by the length of the Caulfield straight.
If you will be tested whilst using it (HP contains a couple of peptides and aminos they don't like) go for something else. Preferably avoid the american body builder focused ones. They are dodgy. Also, avoid Max's - the quality fluctuates wildly.
It may work but i found that to be the most vile tasting protein powder i've tasted.
A couple of weeks ago we had to send someone out to demo how to use something (cos they kept saying they were breaking them and we were getting sick of replacing the products)
Turns out they’d ordered the completely wrong thing :S

Lol. Yep, tastes pretty rude.
If being really tasty is important try Goliaths. Works very well, tastes great.

Skim milk powder. Same result much much cheaper.
To an extent, although most of the protein content in skim milk powder is casein or slow releasing whereas whey protein is fast releasing.

Skim is perfect for over night/ general daytime if you are training hard. After a workout I would go whey isolate for it's quick bio availability though.

Fine use infant formula. Point is for 99% of the population protein powder is wank.
I actually haven't had protein post workout for a while. I used to get this Caliber flavourless stuff and quite liked it, but focus more on carbs after workouts now.
Come home and have oats with blueberries, banana, and peanut butter. I actually find I recover better from this than when I was having shakes.

Going to need some details of what they were doing for the lolz!
I don't get how an amateur could make mistakes like that let alone someone who's job it is to prepare footballers
After looking at all the options for protein powder i made my own blend and works out about $45 a kilo.
100% NZ Whey isolate
Dextrose
Raw Cacao powder
Add a table spoon of coconut oil or peanut butter if I want extra calories
Tastes fantastic, high in BCAA's and no shititer protein blends. If making at night i'll mix with whole milk , if during day just use water.
I'm currently getting my protein from a wholesaler in Dandenong. Protein authority its called. 2.5kg iso unflavoured for $80. 90% protein per 100g.
Whey protein concentrate 2.5kg for $50.
The only place I get my protein, no
bullshit.
I'm getting my creatine and BCAAs over eBay. Saving a truck load of cash.
Try megapolis supplements on eBay. you won't be disappointed.

Why do you need to add BCAA's to it?
Not a fan of the concentrate from past experience, Isolate comes in at 95% protein.

He gets his protein powder in bulk direct from the manufacturer Glanbia foods. This is one of the largest cheese/dairy manufacturers. This company is the same that supplies Optimum Nutrition.
So you are getting the protein from the source without the pixie dusting and marketing.
I don't add BCAAs to the protein I add them to my water during the day to sip on.
