Far out, watching that video on the first page vs Freo, Andrew Lee was horrendous haha
Need to draft or trade for a ruckman.
Honest question. Who will ruck for us if Ryder/Belly both get injured?
Joe/Gumby.
It's so easy to forget how good Hille was for a while.
Remember how he used to kick goals from 55 with ease? They'd generally pass the sticks 3/4 up.
He was a very good ruckman, and provided a lot up forward. Will always remember his soccer goal against the dee's in the 2004 Elimination Final. I went off tap when that went through!
Both have given their absolute all for this club. Always wondered if giving Hille the Captaincy helped or hindered him, thoughts?
I'd love for NatRat to stay with the club and captain the VFL side. Think he's got a lot to offer being around the club
Hille was criminally underrated by nearly everyone his whole career.
Both have been wonderful clubmen too. Very happy to see them get one last game in the 1's
With regards to the above how do the VFL teams get players on the list, if NatRat drops of the Bombers AFL list can he easily signed as just a VFL listed Bomber? The coin will be a lot less but i assume someone like him would get more than just beer money in the sociual club.
hille was a brilliant ruckman when we were really ■■■■. as rolo said, acl couldn’t have happened at a worse time
NLM is the nicest essendon player ive met. one time when I was over I was walking around windy hill and I ended uo sitting in the stands with him for a good 20 minutes just chatting away. such a down to earth bloke
both will be missed, essendon people through and through
Lets hope they both punch the crap out of some Tigers lol
Good luck to David Hille and Nathan Lovett Murray in their future endeavours post footy in NLMs case the recording business
hoepfully they will be employed in a leadership role at EFC, they could definitely add a bit
tremendous clubmen, ripper blokes both of them, bleed red and black, played tall, and barracked for Ess as a kid, club leaders, played it hard and fair over the journey, cant ask much more than that of a footballer

Lovett-Murray hangs up the boots
Exclusive to essendonfc.com.au 4:55pm AEST Thursday, August 29, 2013
Essendon veteran Nathan Lovett-Murray has today announced his retirement from the game and will line up for his final match against Richmond on Saturday night.
Lovett-Murray never took a backward step during his 145 games and will be remembered as a ‘warrior‘ of the club.
The 30-year old said he would be forever grateful to the club for the opportunities they‘d given him.
“When I first came to the club I was hoping to play one game and I‘ve played one-hundred and forty-five, I‘ve had a really good run and it‘s a great club,†Lovett-Murray said.
“I was lucky enough to play in a couple of finals, but Playing in the Dreamtime game and on ANZAC Day was always a big highlight of my career.â€
“The club has given me a lot of opportunities and being at a club such as Essendon, the community work they do, has helped me with the work I do with the indigenous community.â€
A fierce and unrelenting competitor for more than a decade, Lovett-Murray has been a fantastic servant of the club since making his debut in 2004.
Hille announces his retirement
Exclusive to essendonfc.com.au 4:47pm AEST Thursday, August 29, 2013
Essendon ruckman David Hille will play his final game in the red and black on Saturday night against Richmond after announcing his retirement today.
The 32-year-old has played 196 games since making his debut against Melbourne in 2001.
David said his decision to hang up the boots was to ensure the team continued its march towards future success.
“I‘ve really enjoyed the people and friends I‘ve made over my time at the football club,†Hille said.
“A lot of the young guys have developed really well and I‘ve got a lot of confidence in the team moving forward, I‘d love to be a part of it but I‘m not going to be, and I wish them all the best.â€
“The place has changed a lot, as it will in the future, and the club heads out to Tullamarine next year which is another positive step.â€
Hille is a former captain and 2008 Crichton Medallist with the Bombers having played a key role during his time with the club.
Well done to Hille and NLM. True EFC legends. You both will be sorely missed. All the best in the future.
Final *AFL* matches, or final matches?
Always a sad time of the year when you farewell not just fantastic club men but great people like David and Nathan.
Expect the team to send them off in style.

Ha! Nice work.
Congratulations and farewell to both NatRat and Hille - they both made great contributions to Essendon and I'm glad that they played for us.
I hope neither are lost to the club or game
Thanks guys, loved the way you both went about it. Enjoy the game on Saturday and best of luck thereafter.

BITB?
Well said Brewers Droop.
Hille was far more than a servant. He was a leader. I still remember his first game - you could just see it in him, even as a kid (a massive, massive kid!)
NLM should be considered in the same league as Longy, IMO. Not as a player (obviously - Longy was one in a million) but for his off field leadership and community work. They both love the jumper, and they both love their people. I hope that Essendon and the AFL stand by this guy as he takes the next step
When and who was Hilley's first game against? I am trying to remember and I am not sure. I was wrapped we got Hille. I was lucky to see him play a fair bit pre-draft and hoped we would get him as I thought we needed a ruckman. I am almost certain Hilley was not an Essendon fan as a kid, I am very confident he followed the poo and wee team. I am also pretty sure he is from sydney, I reckon he would be unlikely to go to GWS, but if Sheedy is not there anymore then it would make it a fraction more likely that he could go there.
