Oh err, there’s gonna be an investigation…
GA sold out. Standing room only.
Nothing spurs on investigating an issue like Essendon doing it.
Does seem strange though. Has anyone done it before?
We are so getting fined / deregistered / crucified.
Just had a vision of hell, where I’m watching every Anzac Day game, surrounded by Collingwood supporters…They somehow don’t have the very few we won. Then they switch to Carlton games and there is no alcohol or way to escape…
It would be a fitting weekend for the AFL to crucify Essendon
The umpires are already on to it.
Fark off Thomson
WTAF?
The connection of AFL and integrity always makes me scoff.
Did someone shoot Bambi?
Player who spent time in hospital during the week is late out. Shocking. Outrageous.
Well it is pretty stupid. They’ve increased the emergencies to 4, and we still can’t get it right.
So in 2016 when the Pies got fined 5k and the Hawks 2.5k for the same thing it wasn’t an integrity issue?
Essendon acted alone,…
Pies and hawks would stand up for themselves. We will bend over and cop it as usual.
I read Browne’s comment as “The AFL might allow clubs to replace players with anyone”, (ie get rid of the concept of “Emergencies”). Of course that could mean any late change to the 22 might become a “donation” moment.
Thompson on the other hand is clearly on it early. Zaharakis was always a question mark. Recovery from an infection always an unknown, or course they were naming him, and making a late change. And Daniher…well if they never expected Clarke to miss (and had some doubts on Bellchambers), then it makes sense that the emergencies were as they were, and Essendon’s hand was forced structurally.
Or Essendon stuffing around.
But really this feels more like Essendon being forced by having limited options to cover replacement talls.
