Agree. Motion passed.
Happy to stick with the originals but for a change up I don’t mind the chocolate ones.
@mods
Woolies hands down best buns, best doughy, fruity density to crisp ratio.
plain with a heart clogging amount of butter
Coles are currently rolling with a Cheese & Jalapeno Doritos flavoured hot cross bun. Sounds terrible, right?
Much to my horror, Mrs B came home with a pack of them.
Surprisingly, they’re actually decent. Not a hot cross bun (obviously). More a slightly spicy, cheesy, doughy thing. But a great deal tastier in reality than I’d have thought in concept…
Hello Woolworths product manager.
We know you already like to push Easter straight after Christmas. And yes it subliminally increases my chocolate consumption.
but please leave something as an actual Easter tradition.
Gluten free hot cross buns… just no.
@mods
@BAAKKEERRRR pls
Change the cross to a smiley face for the rest of the year for all I care.
And it sounds like a subconscious admission that you would eat them all-year round if they were available. I’ll mark you down as a yes.
Good thread to draw out out all the weirdos and add them to the avoid list.
If the answer isn’t traditional, hang your head in shame.
They’re good as an alternate burger bun.
Originals at Brumby’s go alright.
The cinabbon ones from woollies are elite.
Plain, under the grill with butter.
Es beuno.
Though I don’t mind just ripping a chocolate one out of the bag not heated and just smothering it in butter.
There is one type of hot cross bun and one type only.
You heretics have a fiery fate ahead of you.
And as several righteous posters have mentioned, there needs to be a 1:1 ratio of bun to butter.
Mmmmmmmm… Sacrelicious
Really just a moon waffle, an excuse to eat lots of butter
