If we are a serious club we MUST protest Rampe post climb

Some quite well reasoned conspiracy theories here pointed at gambling and possible corruption. I think one day there should be a sports royal commission of some sort. Sports bodies because of their structures and links to gambling are rife for organised crime and corruption.

Glad Woosha said something! About time we fired up about it all. Won’t change the result but at least we’ll have shown some ā– ā– ā– ā– ā– ā–  backbone.

Gotta to be very careful how it’s worded

No doubt it was deliberately planned to be done so.

He’s essentially just called them cheating kents however. Which is exactly what they are.

Under a directive from their supreme overlords no doubt. Have an ā€˜understanding’ of who they want to win / how to keep games close etc

The Collingwood bias is a farce. $$$

Afl / umps were more concerned about rampe telling a umpire he talks like a girl, than chasing up the jumping the post incident.

Caro said should have been a free.
Judy said it shouldn’t have been paid
Hutchy said it should be a free pick.
Lloyd said should have been a free kick.
even John Longmire said it was a free kick you idiot to , when Rampe told him he climbed the post after the siren.

Continually sides with the AFL view/fence sits whenever I’ve seen him talk. Whether that’s as he’s on the board of Blues and has to tow the party line or just because he’s a brown nosing kent unsure.

It’s a free. And blind Freddy can see it.

He knows exactly where his mystery blue powder is buttered.

The full behind the goal vision shows Connor McKenna as well as Hooker and Stringer point it out.

This bloke who probably never saw a match 5 years ago was onto this straight away.

Seriously can’t get over how openly corrupt the league has become. No more pretense.

ā€œIt was a free kick, but probably not right to pay it at that stage because it had would have had more significant consequences than at other stages in a game or if the scores weren’t closeā€

FK THIS ā– ā– ā– ā–

YOU’RE NOT A SPORT ANYMORE. YOU’RE SELLING A PRODUCT.

The AFL are relying on Section 50-45 of the Income Tax Assessment Act 1997 for their income tax exemption.

They only get it if they are an association established for the encouragement of a game or sport.

They are so far beyond this it’s a joke.

Start paying your ā– ā– ā– ā– ā– ā– ā–  taxes. ā– ā– ā– ā– ā– ā– .

The AFL has been trying to make out it didn’t really effect anything but I was surprised at how close it was to the actual kick in the footage I saw just then.

HTB has an interpretation element (prior/no prior) you fume at decisions made but can sit back and generally understand. This is black and white as a rule, you don’t get discretion here. Just like the old kick out rule or punching the ball through for a point in a ruck contest, it’s a free kick from the top of the square.

Its like someone kicking it OOF and saying we’ll he didn’t mean to do it and it probably wouldve gone over the line anyway, let’s just throw it in.

Yes, we were carp, as in the previous week.
So were Sydney though, also as previously.
I think the scoreboard was a reasonable reflection of the contest, 100m and (non) 50m penalties notwithstanding.
Sadly, despite not needing to (Myers a 5% chance to kick it, at best), Sydney cheated to ensure a win in the game, and were allowed to.
The competition has no integrity.

That’s why I don’t rate Heppell as a captain.

He brings too much of his good guy onto the team.

We need a harden player to be captain. Out of all our players I think between Orazio who shows real endeavour and intent with his football and takes his game seriously, and from a hardened aspect Smith would be ideal captains. Smith should be in the leadership group at a minimum winning the medal.

There has been a surprising amount of backlash in the media about it too. Sure it’ll die off in a few days but Robbo, Timmy, Nick Riewoldt, KB, Doc and Plough all agreed that it should have been a free.

Saying Essendon played like garbage and didn’t really deserve the win, and also saying that we were screwed out of a win by a clear-as-day rules violation that wasn’t applied are not mutually exclusive feelings.

Agreed. I’ll take any win - no matter how ugly or undeserved.

That’s because his game plan and coaching aren’t working so he needs to be seen to show something to deflect away from him

Rule 17.12 (g) states that a free kick is awarded against a player who engages in misconduct. Climbing the goal post is an attempt to gain an unfair advantage, and is therefore misconduct. Could have pinged him with that rule.

In this instance he was answering a direct question about the decision. I was pleasantly surprised.
