If you could attend any Essendon moment in History?

Big night in Scott Lucas’s career too. Ran around as a mobile big man in the last quarter and had a big impact.

One of my all time favourite Bombers, Longy had a wretched run with knees. From memory, he did another one in his return v St Kilda the following season.

And injured himself in training on the eve of the '01 granny from memory. Such a brilliant player, but missed plenty of footy due to unfortunate injuries.

He didn’t play a single game in 2001, did he?

Played 7 games in ‘01. Injured his hammy at training before the granny & missed the big dance. Retired.

Remember when people freaked out at Long “unjustly” replacing Cory McGrath after his debut 13 game streak?

I don’t think he was a shadow of himself. Must have been Dean Wallis who didn’t play a game.

I reckon Wallis played one, against Sydney at the SCG. Hardly any game time though.

There was also some sort of funnny buggers about him maybe playing in the prelim against Hawthorn I think.

Yeah, Longy was (sadly) cooked by then.

@Michael_Long_Legend is right. Wallis played that one game early in the season vs the Swans and hardly had a touch.

My first thought at seeing the OP’s question was to nominate Coleman’s first game but that was obvious and many have nominated that one.

So I will say his LAST game that year.

When he kicked 6 goals in the Grand Final. That brought up 100 for the season. On debut. The only player to have ever done it, and the only one who will ever do it.

And yes, that game we won the Premiership.

If I could only see one game in history, THAT would be it.

What makes it even sweeter: we beat FCFC that day.

Was it Wallis who had some emotional issues that year, trying to be reunited with his biological mother who lived interstate?

Good memory, AT. I think the Scum ran a piece about it at the time - along with an accompanying nudie rudie pic of Wallis & his wife impersonating Lennon/Ono.

Thanks for that Albert

I was too young to see him play

How good was he? Better than LLoyd, Ablett Dunstall, Lockett etc?

Essendon v north 2018 on fox right now. Worth a watch. Geez we can be good

I’d love to be in Subiaco 2013 knowing we were gonna win.

I would love to have been at 1984 GF, but I was at the 1993 game. I would choose 1993 again anyway.

I can assure you, it was good
