Injury Updates

After making his first official return to an AFL field in 588 days, forward Anthony McDonald-Tipungwuti will be on a modified training program after suffering quad soreness.

McPherson says McDonald-Tipungwuti will have his progress closely monitored throughout the week and will not be risked if he doesn’t adequately recover in time for Sunday.

“He pulled up sore from his first game back in a long time,” McPherson said.

“We’ll monitor his progress over the next couple of days and we’ll have more info later in the week to make a call.”

Stewart still a way off too…

BScott was right - 8 minutes is his limit

Don’t want to be a spoilsport but the fact that Tippa has a strain after 15 to 20 minutes in the last quarter shows how far he has to come fitness wise. To tell the truth he looks 5 to 10 keg’s need to still come off.
Probably needs to go back to the vfl to build up those game time minutes. Not sure guest appearances in the last quarter of games is going to help him. He looked absolutely buggered after that mark where he beat two Hawks opponents (amazing really. He seems to have lost none of the skills).

Wonder if we’ll now see Stringer and Voss replace Weid and Walla (sub) in the forward line?

I reckon Weid will play, Walla gets a week off then a few in the VFL. Stringer straight to VFL for a week.

Snelling comes in as sub.

the report said soreness, rather than strain

I see no reason why Tippa can’t spend the next 4-6 weeks playing in the VFL, Snelling and Guelfi are ready to go and Jake is fit. Walla can work on regaining more fitness and strength.

boo

Yeah prob more realistic. I do feel Voss is on the verge though, could be a good week to blood him.

Still, I think that’s still indicative of what I said.

If he was running/jogging laps I’d say their isn’t a strain.

He certainly has work to do, regardless of how good the weekend was.

no probs with your management, just clarifying the issue

Just the club softly letting people know Walla is out this weekend so nobody loses their minds on Thursday night.

I personally think its pretty ■■■■ poor from the club to not be a little more transparent as to why an original 6-8 week injury is now listed as 2-3 months after its already been 6 weeks.
Its the same old secret keeping bullshit the clubs been doing for too long.

Why is it that all Essendon injuries are always worse than first expected?
