There were a couple of blows for the Bombers last week with confirmation Guelfi (hamstring) and Hobbs (ankle) had suffered injuries, although the latter is expected to be available for selection this weekend. Essendon will be hoping Zerk**-Thatcher** is back for round three after missing last week due to an ankle injury. – Dejan Kalinic

Reid 2-3 gets me excited! Need to get games into him so we get the BZT/Reid duo up and running

I get the feeling Zerk might not play this week.

Is Tsatas just dead because I swear his time frame hasnt changed now for like a month?

Best case scenario, in three weeks the injury list is down to:

James Stewart
2MP
Tsatas
J Davey

Unlikely more injuries don’t crop up but hey.

I take that back… How silly to have assumed Guelfi’s hammy issue was minor or even ‘standard’.

The timeframe has got longer over the last month.

2MP gone for the year it seems.

Reid 3 weeks away is good news.
Cox 8 weeks away - did he have a set back?
Wright - 3-4 months away.
Tsatas is now around a similar timeframe to Cox.

Stewart obviously had a setback that hasn’t been communicated yet.

Not mentioning a set back per se, but reading between the lines there was 100% a setback. Geeez he’s missing a lot of footy.

With Zerk-Thatcher and Tippa imminently available, apart from Wright & Guelfi… there isn’t much missing that is going to significantly reduce our chances of winning games.

Tsatas is still an unknown quantity for us at AFL level at the moment.

I’m certain he has benchmarks along the way and they won’t progress him until he hits them. That is pretty standard.

Going to need another rebuild in a few years as all the players we’ve brought in we’ve broken physically.

Stewart should just retire and do the club a favour so we can get a ruck or KPF in the mid season draft.

What’s the actual injury ?

I want Cox and Reid in a spot where they can get through a full 2024 pre-season. A handful of games in 2023 (VFL/AFL) would be a bonus.

But they need to be in a spot to play >20 games next year.
