It’s throwing staff members of your team under the bus. It would make hiring any replacement fitness and conditioning staff more difficult.
Has he tried sprinting yet? That’s when we will all take a collective deep breath!
He did say stuff like that too. You just didn’t go beyond reading the headline in the Foxfooty articles.
To be specific, he said it’s a concern and it is being investigated.
That doesn’t fit the narrative that everything negative is Brad’s fault
Its not scheduled till half way through the first quarter
I’d prefer someone resilient and able.

You know, apart from watching the whole presser, your assumptions about somebody else’s activities are just about spot on.
Edit: You know what. I rescind my point. We’re just nitpicking phrasing at this point. Who cares.

I’d prefer someone resilient and able.
Sure. The elite pick and choose where they go. Let’s put up a hurdle to make the members feel good.
Alternatively, let’s treat supporters like children so a precious, fragile person doesn’t get hurt feelings or scared of scrutiny?
If a condition of employment is their success isn’t questioned then that’s a catering sized can of worms.
What would you have him say? He’s talking to the ■■■■■■■ media…they’ve already painted it as an injury mess (which it is). Last thing our head coach should be doing is throwing more petrol on the bonfire.
You question it; but not in public and certainly not in front of the media.
Scott did acknowledge that its an issue:
“We’ll clearly club-wide do a lot of work and an investigation into what’s happening, as all clubs do on a regular basis,” Scott told reporters on Wednesday.
"I used the word ‘investigation’, but we’re always investigating. We’ll investigate post-match, we investigate the way we play, our processes, whenever there’s an injury, we investigate the causes of that.
"Nick Bryan ruptured his ACL in a ruck contest on the Adelaide Oval on a perfect surface in an innocuous incident, but it’s still a deep investigation as to the mechanism and what happened and why.
“We do that on an ongoing basis. The frustration is for Darcy Parish, the recurrence of a calf injury and Kyle Langford the recurrence of his quad. Both scans are relatively minor, but it’s the same injury and that takes a minor injury into something a little bit more of a concern for us.”
Tiresome!

So essentially we’re happy with the child-like, patronising communications around “opportunity” and prefer that to actually addressing the issues.
Makes sense.
How about the coach says “It’s frustrating. We can’t afford to lag behind in this area and we can’t ignore it”.
A simple acknowledgement rather than ■■■■■■■ down our legs.
It’s like someone burning down your house and telling you it’s an opportunity to do some camping.
That does sound like an opportunity for some camping, though. Particularly as there is already a little fire going.
With Reid and McKay unlikely to play again this year, it’s great that we had the foresight to pick up a key defender in the MSD…….
Nah, Blitz told me that is short-term thinking. Because Ridley, Reid, McKay and Lav are all long term dependable options into the future …
Interesting fact, the 2022 West Coast Eagles hold the record for the most games missed due to injury during the season with a total of 135 games missed.
Now not an exact science but i did a rough tally of the players that would be considered best 22 and came up at around 100 games missed so far, given we have 9? games left and with draper, bryan, redman, mckay, reid, langers and jones are unlikely to return this year, its safe to say that we will smash this record.
I only did this roughly so please dont go to hard on the minutia, but it just shows how bad our fitness department is, the worst in the history of the afl, or maybe we are just really unlucky?

Didn’t they resurface just one of the ovals?
The main oval.
At least once they’ve had the VFL and VFLW training at the same time on the second ground (VFL finished earlier, so it wasn’t a complete overlap).
One would assume that heads will roll post season but I see no point in publicly lynching staff for supporter’s edification. That’s not how you conduct a business
