Are you sure about that?
Winner. Also wondering why you’re in the apathetic thread.
I would love to get Port rd1 at marvel please afl
I’m sorry senator, may you repeat the question.
Might have to wait, bar an exemption 2 metre pizza,
For the JD’s to change their usernames.

I just feel pathetic
Way to bring the mood down dude.

Why would what other people post make you feel miserable?
That’s right, what other people post should always make you feel warm and fuzzy.
You can never get down about it.
If you’re not clapping you’re not doing it right!

round 1 will tell us everything we need to know
if hooker and Hurley line up in the same defence, its gonna be a LONG year
you know they will be.
it’s just a matter of how long they are given there before fazed out.
Will be interesting to see what they do with hurley though, seeing he still has 2 years.
he couldn’t last a half as a forward without cracking it at the delivery, which i found ironically funny considering his decision making and disposal decline with ball in hand over the last few years.
the rest i guess we at least find out if rutten will drop players who don’t stick to his gameplan.
If he doesn’t, he’ll be sacked before his tenure is over.
If he does, well at least we are on the first step to getting guys into the side who will, that’s my only hope for next year.
Can endure the beltings that are going to come, if they at least look like they are set up and sticking to the gameplan better.

Just waiting on confirmation Caldwell has been given 6… and then its a short trip to JC06.
As to the comments around older blokes and possibly a new approach… love it. I think ‘Hub life’ shined a light onto every club and their culture… nowhere to hide and it played out that way. Absolutely no surprise that teams like Richmond and Geelong thrived in that environment… tight knit clubs that have strong culture and strong leaders…
Some were surprised about West Coast but I wasn’t… Their poor road record indicates they have a different approach… and potentially shows why they are perennially seen as flag faves, around the mark but haven’t really cracked through.
For us I think it showed that we may have got ‘too’ fancy with our player led movement… I think it showed the deep and significant cracks/factions in the list… the clear divide between old/new and old/young… and that the ‘leadership group’ is not really working.
2021 simply MUST be the season we have been demanding for 20 years… it must break the cycle. We need to make a strong statement about values and then play accordingly. We MUST drop players that are underperforming. I don’t care what their name is or whether they are more skilful than the replacement… I want to see a real team that plays for each other and with effort. I want the ‘1%ers’ column to define good vs bad games… I want shephards to be seen as more important than goals and tackles to be more important than disposal counts.
If the young guys are ready… then let them have the reigns… put them in the leadership positions… put them in their starting spots (ie Parish in the guts not HFF) and let them go. Time to prioritise the future and not keep trying to pinch a flag… we were nowhere near it.
And… and this is probably the most important thing… I will only believe we have truly changed when we develop a kick in strategy. Six years of watching hurley bomb it long to the left wing with zero positive influence was great… but I’m ready for a change…
Apathy or numbness is a sign of serotonin depletion. Anybody letting the fortunes of their sports team control their release of pleasureable chemistry needs to divest their emotional attachment. Go and hug your loved ones.
Richmond’s “strong culture” is often trumpetted but they were one of the worst behaved clubs in the hub. I have no doubt they are close knit but depending on your definition of culture, I don’t buy it.
yes very different definition… I don’t care how well behaved they were… my comments were specifically around the fact that they work as a team… believe in the culture of the group and all ‘buy in’ to the same vision. They are clearly close knit.
I’ve said for years… I don’t need a team of prefects… whatever… but we do need a team. A group of guys that actually want to be together, play together and support each other.
Go back and watch some of those games from the Hird era… first time I saw glimpses of pride in the jumper and each other for years… that is what I’m talking about… not Zach getting knocked on his ■■■ and not a single player coming to support him… and many many more examples.
So that is what I was referring too.

by that logic, why would you even bother posting on a online forum dedicated to ones sports team ?
let alone get ■■■■■■ or the like when people say stuff you don’t like or agree with, and continually post about it ?
seems odd, anyone who mentions letting a sports team dictate their mood, posts that thought on a sports forum, go figure.
Because he’s making a very good point about attaching too much importance to something that should be a transitory emotional experience. Which is pertinent to this thread. Bigger question is why you’re so worked up about it.
