Is Essendon 'hard to deal with'?

Expecting communication specialists to abandon a cliche that still has currency as click bait is nostalgia at its finest.
Perhaps, when Sheeds has finally shuffled off this mortal coil, Slobbo’s liver has given up the ghost, and SWWNBN can’t remember exactly who is on her hate list, “Essendon is hard to deal with” will no longer be an October staple.

I think that the narrative has already changed. Just look at the headlines from the last few days:

  • Adrian Dodoro completes perfect trade period for Essendon

  • Essendon’s Strategy Played Out Beautifully

  • Essendon, Port Adelaide and Melbourne have been big winners this trade period

  • Flag tilt a chance as Dons finally come to table

  • Essendon list manager Adrian Dodoro triumphantly claims club is ‘relevant again’ following big trades

Given most football journos just regurgitate past headlines, we should be good for a while now!

Gary buckenara furiously writing to the papers to tell them about how mean Sheedy was to him in 2003, and why that still matters.

Caddyfest vs SSSfest 2017

Compare and contrast

We didn’t come close to landing Caddy yet we nailed SSS with essentially a 1st 2nd 3rd rounder.

Even Buckenara seems to have changed his tune:

"GARY BUCKENARA SAYS: One of the undoubted winners of the trade period. Bringing in three really good players in Stringer, Saad and Smith is going to improve the list dramatically next year and I believe it will fast-track the Bombers in their quest for premiership success. It puts them right in the mix to challenge in 2018 — I expect the Bombers to be in the top four or at least challenging for the double-chance. Essendon won’t enter the draft until late but if someone said you could get Stringer, Saad and Smith with your first three picks you would take that in a heartbeat. We could look back at this trade period as the turning point for this club in building a premiership list. GRADE: A+"

Still won’t stop Buckenara calling us hard to deal with in 2018.

It’s all about us …

To be fair on GC, now that they have handed #2 over for Weller it does appear they walk the walk!

You mean “Stephen”. Alwayz thought he was “Buddha”. Must be addition of spectacles, always a plus for pretending to have a brain and not looking like a Western District pig “fancier”. Or looking like one.

He started with the equivalent of $8bill made from his dad’s connections with corrupt NY pollies building horror projects for the poor. The bloke hasn’t a clue. He lost money on a casino(!) and is a joke in the business world.
His former closest allies now call him mentally inept. See an interview with him in the eighties he seems ok. If he had less money he’d be in jail for his treatment of staff and women going back over forty years. Which of course is where he’s headed.

You lost?

Are we ready to hear this for the next 3 months?

Will probably hear the whole “hard to deal with” garbage from the start of trade week til the end. It’s the media’s go to line.

Is he referring to Buckenarra or Steven Hocking?

i remember that time when my bike was stolen from the front of the local milk bar. it was a Free Agent Eluder, great pushy and different to the mongooses and haros that everyone else had. anyway, i got it back, so i was happy about that. i’ll never forget the fat kid’s name.
