This is probably the right take.
Ie our games vs StKilda, Footscray should always be at the G.
I dont mind us being interstaters MCG game as well sometimes though, as they request some as it’s where finals are played.

Hah, back in the days at Windy Hill, I was a Social Club member but preferred to watch the game standing in the Outer. Then after the game walked across the hallowed turf to the SC.
That was an experience that I’ll never forget being a young teenager. It was, let’s say, rough there.
I didn’t know the true smell of pis.s until I went to WH. Blokes standing on crushed cans for a better view, and the fog of pis.s
We could not afford social club membership, it was only for Protestant Toffs.
We (two of us) took in an esky with 24 cans of VB, drank last can in final garter, staggered across the ground to my home on Napier Street, threw the esky into the front garden, walked to the Chinese shop and had six dimsims each, and then had six pots at the Royal. That Mrs Fox hated footy.
When do you mean ? In the late 1960s it was only rough when we played Collingfilth. There was always a brawl under the scoreboard. Crowd was a bit restless in the 1970s, but we found it hard to win games so there was cause. After that Bomber crowds were pussycats.
I am neither Protestant nor a Toff, so must have got in on my charm and good looks.
Actually, Emil (who any 70s SC members would know) made the way clear for me.
But, yeah, much better in the Outer.
All of you who reckon Docklands is alright have ■■■■■■■ Stockholm Syndrome.
Only time I used to frequent the place was with a Mate who worked with Paul Doran who was the Social Club Manager for years, as well as working for the Dept of Defence in Australian Government.
Emil Eugene, long time divi marketing committee leader. A great servant of the club.
Forget going to the mcg, send us to lionhart reserve

It probably is indeed about time we reverted to the McCracken’s Ground.
Main thing to take from that is that with our quarter-century sign-on benefit expired, we’ve been lumped on the same deal as everyone else.
Doesn’t mean we’ll be as broke as Norf, because the second half of filling the ground is where you actually make any money, but it does remind us we have no leverage.
Sometimes I feel like we are more broken than North.
in over 20 years they have least won some finals
Should never ever have give up our MCG tenancy.
We can thank Ron spotless Evans for that.
Should never have moved out to Tullamarine, we can thank Spotless’ son Dave Evans for that.
Reckon it had more to do with Graeme McMahon and Peter Jackson. They were offered a deal that was hard to refuse, financially and that was what both cared about the most.
Ron Evans was the President when we stopped playing at Windy Hill and moved to the G, I think ! And Windy Hill for all the nostalgia, was a horrible ground to play on and train on. Even playing school footy on it was horrible, and the facilities for players were rank. I usually drank an esky full each game I watched so supporter facilities were fine, if you liked standing in the mud and the rain.
Irony was that Essendon Council in that period would not spend a dollar on the ground, but the fat old while councillors mostly barracked for the Bombers and loved the freebies each season.
Correct.
Evans sent us to Docklands, Mc Mahon / Jackson to Docklands.
A major strategic mistake with hindsight.
Destroyed the football club
McMahon and Jackson not the first to get it wrong buying off the plan. We need to get good then can move to a 7 MCG 4 Docklands split.
