Has fallen back to his
2012fetus form.
I had high hopes for Jake but he hasn’t improved over the years. He has played 80 odd games and should be nearing his best, but what we are getting is just so disappointing.
He would feel deverstated also, the poor blighter.
Spike says it how it is - we need to mindful of player welfare. If I remember correctly, Jake had some personal struggles with his self belief a while back, we don't know how he is coping with this: http://www.news.com.au/sport/afl/former-bomber-mark-mcveigh-fears-court-action-may-deprive-players-chance-to-clear-name/story-fndv8gad-1226955179048
Sorry - I have no idea how to post links in here!
You linked a ralph word vomit?
Correct me if I'm wrong (which I could well be) but I seem to remember him having a decent stretch as a run with player...any takers on that?

Decent in the sense he was solid without being spectacular. We can't play both Hocking and Melksham as taggers though, we've got to be proactive rather than reactionary.
I think he has been gifted games for far too long. Obviously someone saw potential and there was a plan based on that, but at some stage you have to pull the pin, and say this is a failed experiment.
It hasn’t worked, as a previous poster said he is consistent, consistently mediocre.
The sorts of mistakes he makes you expect of players new to the senior side. After 80 games I think he has had his chances. Particularly with the players we have coming through.
I would put both Merritts, Gleeson, ashby, Ambrose, all ahead of him at the moment and probably a few more I have forgotten,
Back to the VFL side for a stint.
Ugh. You’re better than that, Jake.
I think perhaps he isn't as mentally strong as some others in regards to the drug saga.
FRUSTRATING!!!
Can tag team with Kav for a full match.
Kav might not get it much, but I expect his touches will be of better quality.
laters
Always saves his putrid worse games for melbourne
Simply must be dropped.was given a free ride in 2012, had a decent second half of 2013.
Is back to his 2012 form. He is a passenger and we cannot afford to carry passengers
No he ain'tUgh. You're better than that, Jake.
Must be dropped after that game. I rarely have a go at players but that was unacceptable. It should not be that hard for a player to kick it to someone in the same jumper, or choose to kick in such a way that at least your team mate has a chance to contest it. Some with handpasses. He was putrid for whatever reason last night and while he should be supported and encouraged to develop as a player under trying circumstances he should also be sent back to the magoos to to do this.
If Dempsey can cop a spray for bad actions then so can Melksham.
Well done to the supporters as well for not cheering when he got subbed, I know it would have been difficult.

Didn't even notice. Which is probably the best i can say for his performance tonight.
The thing with Melksham is his kicks are almost genius. The beautiful low pass to a guy who has his man beaten tends to get picked off by someone cutting across and just getting to it far more than from anyone else.
Once that happens a few times he loses confidence and then second guesses his options.
I actually wonder if he has poor peripheral vision or something as his passes tend to be beautifully weighted for the intended recipient, but he doesn’t see the potential cut off.
Either that or his risk judgement is poor.
I left the G last night disgusted - Jake was ■■■■ but keep giving the guy a game for consistently ■■■■ performances all year, and no one should be surprised that he played another horrible game last night.
He had a lot of mates last night
I'm starting to think his good form last year was the aberration.
He needs to be dropped and hopefully find some form, and he can take Dempsey with him. If these guys are gonna produce performances like these then what do we lose giving a kid a chance?
