According to John Carpenter he hasn't coughed up one gold coin for EFC>No hope on those 70k members. I think the club will be glad if they get to 50k.As far as a fresh start. It isn’t. It’s just a start. It won’t be fresh unless we get better coaches, better recruiters and better developers of talent.
I think it’ll have to be a five year slow build.
You’ll get 60K easily next year
Most of the fair-weathers will sign back up a few games into the season when we’ve won a few matches and the press are talking positive
The membership rippers wont actually rip anything but will be the first to sign back up once they’ve abused the poor girl on the phone about whats happened to Jim thinking that somehow its her fault and she cares
The rest of us who support the club will sign up as normal, hoping that 2016 will be the year we see our team play awesome footy
You’re right, we wont get 70K, but we wont get any less than the figure we have for this year either (you’ll get more)
The membership ‘drop off’ will be about as real as the player exodus - sure, a few will refuse to sign back up, but there are many more waiting to take their place
When Little goes he will be just another rich guy who put money into the club and remembered for his role in the fracturing of the football club.

Don’t bash Benfti !!! Gives a unique point of view and I respect that although I don’t always agree.
Benfti has been pushing for Lloyd so much, I’ve wondered if he was indigenous
There are many shattered people at essendon, mood is very low.

Dan, I hope you are right. However, there are many supporters who are not happy at the moment. This instant “bounce back” you talk about just won’t happen with the wave of a magic wand. All Bomber supporters are fanatical and so we should be. But some of us are also pragmatic. Anyone who believes this current Board are united are just fooling themselves. How can we trust a Board to bring us out of this muck who have shown time and time again that do not share the same fanaticism as the supporters and have sold out our coaches (Hird and Bomber), our players and the supporters by cowering under the fist of the AFL and the media. The Board showed no fight at all and unfortunately our last two presidents have led the way.
As supporters we often follow our club blindly. We forgive indiscretions because we all love the players and want to be part of their successes. When things go bad we feel useless because we can’t do anything except continue to support the team. For some people there comes a time when they stand up and say enough is enough. I’m not enjoying this anymore. I come to the footy to have a couple of hours away from the other stresses of life to enjoy a game I love with family and friends. It’s not happening anymore.
I, like many fellow Bombers I know, fall into this group. I can vent my anger by ringing, emailing the club and letting it all go at some meek girl answering the phone. Or I can cancel my membership (I pay monthly) and only rejoin once all of the current Board are gone. That might only be about $30/month but if 10,000 follow suit then maybe the club will begin to understand the mood of their supporters.
When Little goes he will be just another rich guy who put money into the club and remembered for his role in the fracturing of the football club.
I know there will be many on this Board who don’t agree with me, and so be it. But, in life you live and die by your decisions. I’m happy with mine and I hope you are happy with yours.
One man is not going to unite the club, that happens when everyone who is there starts to pull in the same direction, fans includedCorrect. And fir the record I've got no issue with you or your contacts backing Lloyd either.
Primarily we need a good coach, need to win respect by deed not just by turning up.
Trying to limit ourselves to just ex-EFC people is bonkers.
Yeah, support the club financially and just as importantly make sure everyone gets to their last 2 Melbourne games of the year. Essendon are likely to get flogged but lets make the last 2 weeks a celebration of the club moving forward. It will be a massive show of support and further reinforce the view in the players mind that Essendon supporters are truly the best! C'mon, now is the time to really show you care!
We’ve only got 1 home game left.
When have they ever publically, completely backed him during the last 3 years? He's been isolated at every turn.
“James Hird has also got not only my full and complete support but the board’s full support and we look forward to James taking us into a successful finals campaign,” Little said on Monday.
Anyone else get the feeling there's a few club/board plants going hard in here since Hirdy got the shaft?Obvious as dogs balls on a cat.
Don’t be so dramatic. Some with contacts are obviously being spun a line - SLloyd will unite us all yada yada, don’t worry about the board it’s all OK. Posters have pretty much confirmed as much.
Obviously one person or group of power brokers are selling that as the way forward. Doesn’t mean they have the sway to make it happen, or that the plan would come off.
Hate to break up the conspiracy theory…But who has said that S Lloyd will unite the club?
One poster looked for some info on him As our player mindset issues would be unique. He didn’t say he would unite the club.
It’s a silly statement and I don’t see how the club can be united again. It’ll be different but not united.Who has said that the board is ok?
Quote “Outsiders have a problem at our club, unless they were as charismatic as Sheeds.
Lloyd would be able to be both an outsider, and with the assistance of his brother get the numerous forces on side. …All 3 Lloyds are beautifully complemented to fix our onfield performance and off field factions”
And some quote about picking off the board over the next 2-3 years so as not to lose the good guys.
Not really much of a stretch here: poster said he’d asked some people. And then came back saying all this.
Theory: 2+2=4
Call me crazy.
I’ll be upgrading from bronze to silver. This is by no means a support of the decision to move Jimmy on, FWIW I think he should have been allowed to coach out his contract. It’s just that I’ll be dropping my AFL membership at year’s end so will use the balance to upgrade my EFC. Anybody who jumps off now is deserting the club when they’re needed most.
To those who are jumping off, come back when we’re back on track. Share in all the good times that will eventually come our way again, if that’s how you want to roll. Thankfully there are still many who don’t roll that way.

I struggle to believe that anyone could believe on-field performances were a factor.I don’t disagree with the majority of your post, but this statement is strange. There were many factors at play and of course, our lousy on-field performance is one of them.
Do you really think if we were sitting pretty in the top 4 at the moment that Hird would still be gone? Of course he wouldn’t, he would be preparing for the finals campaign and the administration would be in love with him.
Clubs care about public perception and their relationship with City Hall, but they care about wins and losses most of all. A good win-loss record heals almost all wounds.
One thing we should never forget. The AFL have dictated the path of this saga from before the “blackest day” announcement. The evidence clearly shows that Hird was to be the face of the saga. From the moment Tania and Jimmy called Vlad a liar his cards were marked. For all his bluff and blunder, his “top end of town” mates and his billions Little cowered under the might of HQ. After his deal with Fitzpatrick and Wylie and his follow up stern words with a resistant Hird it was clear to me that the Little/Hird relationship was soured.
The AFL agenda has always been to get rid of Hird. Sure if we were winning games then it may not have happened so soon but it would have happened. The win/loss situation just made it easier to meet the demands of HQ. I agree that a club’s success is judged by the win/loss ratio, but since when do the needs of any individual club come before what the AFL/Commission want.
I’ll be dropping my silver 18 match membership to a 3 game membership. I’m not going to continue fixing the bill for the poor decisions of the Board.

Everything Bomber galaxie said about how to really get clean air at the club is spot on.
Removing these board members will be the ‘clean air’ because really, it is only once the board’s decision making improves that we can ensure clean air.
When the board are consistently making the next right decision, soon enough-we wont friggin need clean air, it will simply be the result of an effective board.
First year in 30 years I will not see the dons live, even though I bought a membership this year (15 yr member).
There are many reasons for that, mostly, I have been disillusioned by the AFL, the way the game is played,
and of course the saga and all its corruption.
So I’ve considered renewing or not renewing my membership many times this week.
I was NOT going to, like many, in protest of the boards handling of this whole saga, and the fact that I have lost so much passion.
But I’ve changed my mind.
My son is 4 years of age, and I dream of a period of success that he and I could both enjoy.
And so I have to have hope that ONE DAY, this club will again become the powerhouse it once was.
My membership renewal is to support my HOPE, not as any kind of acceptance or support of the club under it’s current management, but as a way to ensure that when the right people start making decisions on behalf of the club, it is inheriting a club that is still alive with support.

You are joking I hope.
Ben and I disagree on some things, but he is a fine Bomber person with more credibility than you will ever have.
You live up to your name.
What the hell is with this Tania and Hird rumour not going away. I was sure it was BS but it wont die. What rumour?
Apparant split.
Strangely enough I was trying to explain some of the saga to my wife tonight & she actually said “Imagine the strain its put on their marriage, he looks like a wreck, they will probably break up over this if not they will have to move overseas”
FFS I sincerely hope & pray this saga doesn’t claim that relationship as well. You get farking less for murder!
If WADA lose their appeal, and I feel sure they will, it's going to take all my strength to hold back from storming their farkin HQ and razing the stinkin joint! So help me they have ■■■■■■ up the lives of so many people...I will be right behind you!
Me too!
They ■■■■ me to tears!
Can Sander Earle come too?
LOL at Wilson’s latest article. Stating that Hird was never a big deal to the AFL; he clearly was to you youpoor soul.
