Sheedy was 34 when he started coaching us.
Just before 40 getting us back to back flags.
We really need a younger hungry coach ready for it.
Really think the best coaches are blokes in their early 40s .(or at their best)

James was never a coach. He was an ex player that was given the job.
Don’t be ■■■■■■■ idiotic Essendon. I know it’s not in your nature to make wise, sensible decisions but this is the first good chance we’ve had to un-fuq the club in 20 years.

Brad strategy of turning the list over was fine and obviously there was plenty of turn over in the football department, first Dodoro saga and then the fitness. Eventually everyone realised brad wasn’t the right fit to work with a young developing list.
Cox was made coach at a stable club with good direction and executive management. It’s very risky putting a young coach at the helm of a club lacking that same level of professionalism. We need a coach who will provide direction to the club and the team.

The comparison is only that when you hand a new guy the keys IF he needs support you bolster the footy department around him.
so if we were to get a new coach(and cox was a successor not a new hire). I’d hope we would persist with him this time.
And if he falters just put talent around him.
Yeah I bet looking back all those Sydney supporters feel really stupid demanding Roos as coach all those years ago. Dumb ■■■■■.

The main reason everyone piled on Hird was because they wanted to cut him and the club down. Mission accomplished.
The AFL have had enough of us losing, if the Essendon supporters get behind Hird and the club becomes successful again the money will start rolling in and the AFL will be loving it.

Yeh looks that way, and I recon we would be stupid to turn that combo down personally.
Bartel/Hird and whoever else they can get on their team is leagues better than the coaching we have had over the last 4 years.

Agree, if he can get Bartel on board it is going to be pretty compelling, and would probably outweigh any competition.
