I think we’ll see in the regular season

Yep.

I expect we will have a good JLT first half and then begin managing players out of the game.

If Cats don’t do similar as they approaching the game differently then we will get rolled in 2nd half … and not particularly care… as it matters not.

And El’ Nino will hit blitz thereafter …:tornado::cloud_with_lightning_and_rain::dash:

He won the B&F the following year.

What years are we talking about when we refer to our constant JLT struggles?

Last year we had a team who hadn’t played football in over a year, we struggled, still won in round 1 though, and still made finals.

Year before, we won a game, but had a team of top ups and never really were expected to do anything. Not sure it can be used to prove anything.

Hird’s last year, a bunch of players didn’t play at all because they were provisionally suspended (and we still beat Melbourne). We also started the year well.

Other Hird years from memory we always flew out the gates from round 1 and fell apart late in the season. Even if we struggled in preseason it had limited impact.

I would far prefer that we hit our straps at the end of the season for a change. We have faded out consistently in June/July/August/September for ten years. I honestly won’t give a flying ■■■■ if we get pummeled by 300 points on Sunday providing we are in shape by about round three.

Lol, Nino.

You’ve raised some really good points there. :joy::joy:

Oops.

I reckon since we won the pre-season comp in 2000 we’ve had just about every conceivable kind of performance in these games, and rarely has it indicated anything one way or another about how the regular season followed

The best ones.

Ripping tackle by Hurls.

Probably get ten weeks for that bump now.

They’ve pretty much named everyone.

Not playing

Langford
Leuenberger
Brown
Hartley
Zerk-Thatcher
Redman
Draper
Mynott
Lavender

Then all the injured guys, plus whoever the 6 emergencies end up being.

Really surprised that some in that list above aren’t playing.

Langford must have pulled up short after the Tigers game?

Cant understand why else he would only play 40% game time last week and then not play this week.

I would think Stewart and McKernan will battle it out for the third tall role.

Stewart the better choice on historical form but McKernan means Daniher doesn’t need to ruck and he’s been nearly our best player in the Pre season.

I’m not convinced they will go the three talls strategy.

They might consider Stringer the 3rd tall.
