Don’t really care about result.

Just want the players to have a good hit out which they will get, blow out cobwebs & hopefully no injuries.

Looking forward to seeing Stringer drop a few lippy Tigers and Smith providing plenty of lip & aggro from our side also.

After all the contested work we been doing should be scuffles a plenty.

Agree we need to get in the habit of winning even if it’s pre season.

I agree, I think Ambo goes to Riewoldt, and don’t really see a good match up for Hartley.

Brown is more versatile and attacking than Harts, and Gleeson should be able to cover anyone else vaguely tall, given Richmond isn’t all that tall or big.

We are way too tall if all the players named on the ground play at once, with three rucks named even without Belly. With no Hooker or Stewart, Smack to probably play as a tall forward and maybe Leuey and Draper rotating the ruck off the bench, although with players having limited game time Draper will probably will get a run forward too.

I suppose this is going to be the “give some kids a try” game before getting more serious in JLT2 with hopefully all of JD, Stewart and Hooker playing.

If Brown is in good form and can hold down a one of the 3 tall defender postions, I am keen for him to see him stay in the 22 given he can potentially rotate with Hooker forward if Hooker is needed down back.

There’s a bench of 8, we can carry 2 extra talls (one back, one ruck) and 2 extra smalls.

Tigers have named close to their full strength side. I wouldn’t be too surprised if we lose to them on Saturday.

Though then we’d have to deal with Tigers’ supporters yelling “back to back” after their JLT win.

Is the game on the box/web?

Fk I hate Richmond.

I’ll be cursing if we let Martin run rampart

Who cares? It’s a pre-season game. Teams rarely employ specific tactics to stop the opposition. They work on their own structures

Should we not be practicing how to stop the oposistions best player.

It’s always very difficult to read anything into the named lineup but it’s very interesting to see Long named where he is.

Apart from people saying he’d bulked up a bit, I really didn’t think any of the training reports had indicated any improvement.
Although Deckham’s report yesterday appears spot on about him getting a run

It would probably be a good idea, i’m just saying historically, no clubs do it in pre-season games

From the Woosha interview they showed this which named the emergencies. Probably means nothing and just for listing out the squad.

Reckon that would be the standard template for the season proper, maybe? Just couldn’t be bothered with changing it.

  1. Show some two way running from the midfield.

  2. Stand up for the new boys, who will either be receiving a fair bit of lip, or dishing it out. And ■■■■■■■ stand up for yourselves! Time to get serious, bombers.

  3. Oh yeah. Kick ■■■■■■■ goals. Kick through your set shots. I’ll walk home as disappointed as I did after the Sydney final if we are still spraying kicks at goal.

I’m not going to pretend to be understanding what experimental systems and structures are being implemented at this time of year - or even how much is being held back - but these are 3 things I want to see. They are non negotiables. Too soft for too long.

I would be happy to never see McKernan play for us again.
