how excited they are about Walsh - arrived at the club like a 10 year veteran, an excellent leader already, amazing athlete, superstar footballer.
New toy to brighten a dismal outlook

This morning I had a chat about the game to one of the FC football analysts, a guy called Brent Manson (yes yes, instaban etc). Wouldâve preferred to chat with one of our analysts, but you take what you can get. He was saying how excited they are about Walsh - arrived at the club like a 10 year veteran, an excellent leader already, amazing athlete, superstar footballer. With all the talk here about Cripps it might actually be Sam Walsh who proves to be a bigger thorn in our side.
Anyway Iâm going to approach this game like I approach every pre-season match. Iâll spend the hours leading up to the bounce telling myself the result doesnât matter, then once the game starts itâll be like my life is riding on it.
When I read this Iâm reminded of the joke Eddie Murphy tells in his master piece Delirious.
âWhen your starving and someone throws you a crackerâ
The best cracker

Donât forget an FCFC analyst only has FarkCarlton players to compare him with.
Compared to draftees such as Blaine Boekhorst Iâm sure Walsh looks amazing.

I agree the scoreboard shouldnât matter - unless we are behind with 10 mins to go - then we should dig deep and find a way to win. Structures are important, but so is winning culture and sending a message.

I was thinking along these lines when Nino mentioned Carlton had a practice game against the Hawks.
How else would they have gotten practice against a decent side? Intraclub - haha!

I want us to look unstoppable, not flukey.
I want to see us utilising our hyped up players. I want us to look unstoppable, not flukey.

I think that within the game, we should be able to tell whatâs working and whatâs not. Tonight, Iâm more interested in seeing passages of play and systems to be honest. Yeah sure - Iâll be going off like a farkjin madman, because I usually do. But in the end, we want to get it all as right as possible before the season starts. That isnât for a few weeks more.
