Joseph Daniher

:joy:

That year he won cricton medal was immense. Just watch the highlights on youtube.

If he wasn’t kicking them from 80m out he was taking marks standing on shoulders.

FFS. He was our generational player.

I remember the good old days in 2022 when we though Wright was better than Daniher and Hind was better than Saad.

Good on him for leaving FARK ESSENDON

Assuming his kids go into the family business, by the time his kids are coming through I don’t think the northern academies will exist, or at the very least they won’t have exclusive access to the talent as qld will be producing the 2nd highest number of draftees

All class from Joe here and thanks scooter for the upload

Such a sad news… glad he got the ultimate success though. I never hated him for leaving… totally aweful management of his injury.

Saad on the other hand… imagine leaving to join your biggest rival. Makes my blood boil.

I was pretty down on him the way he left , I don’t think he was up front with the club or the fans about how intentions , but I reckon what he has done retiring after the flag is pretty good. he leaves the game at the best time and leaving the game on his terms at this time is probably good for him . as an oussider looking in you would think he’s got a lot more , but probably shows he’s got more important things in life to get to . good on him

He is billed as the Brisbane Lions premiership star. Was he that good, or are all the Brisbane players stars? As far as I was concerned, Lohman was the star. As for his supposed protege, Hipwood, his game has not really improved much. Apparently he has OP. So yep JD was the #1 Big Dog up there in the end, but was a frustrating player for us and left a bit of a bitter taste in my mouth in the way he left Essendon. Ambivalent about him.

The prelim was his best game. His 2 goals near the boundary at distance, were decisive in Brisbane willing that game. Without Joe they would not have made the GF. That’s why it is said he was the Lion’s premiership star. Btw, I’m pleased he has retired as it reduces the irritating scab I have on my back!

I just can’t believe he was travelling from Byron to the club

I love the fact that he has retired on 96 games for Brisbane, ensuring that if he has any kids who become good footballers, they can only come to Essendon under father-son rule (played 108 games with us).

Well done, Joe.

I still remember this clown feigned injury his last year at the club when on 900k or something. Then pops up late season to up his trade value by playing one good game in Adelaide. Couldn’t stand him then and still can’t now.

Also i can’t believe the club decided to thank him for a great career on socials last night, how outta touch can they be.

The previous year, when he tried to get to Sydney, I was shocked and really hoped that he would fall back in love with the club. His last year and especially after the game where he was sitting on the fence during a game, I couldn’t give a stuff if he left. Probably didn’t help it was 2020 and the players were stuck in lockdown up in Queensland, for a guy like him who hated the limelight, being stuck there for that whole period must have been paradise
