The standard was absolutely abysmal. Terrible skills. Zero pressure.

yeah last month has been horrendous , so getting the list as good as possible for the last 2 games is a good chance to start again. we play well against gws and we played well last time against collingwood. Collingwood players might go into self preservation mode against us if they have nothing to gain. we can beat them with our best team

We haven’t played well now for a few weeks but the reality is:
2022 - 7 wins (83%)
2023 - 11 wins (99%) with two games left and finals, although unlikely, still a possibility
Let’s try and enjoy the last two games with some reassuring knowledge that we have exceeded expectations this season… because we will miss watching them (as much as they ■■■■ us) in October.
Try and win one of our last two, just miss the finals and focus on 2024.

Managed to watch most of the first 2 quarters but then had to have a bit of a burn off before summer comes . Fire had lots of sparks and was glowing. Football had no sparks whatsoever and was completely dull.
why on earth would want us to miss the finals?

Have you not been awake over the last 10-15 years in early September when we have scraped into 8th and suffered an off-season of absolute misery after we get humiliated by a far superior 5th placed side? Also puts many of us (especially at club level) in a very ‘comfortable’ position by thinking making 8th will somehow magically lead to a higher finish the following season.
Guess what? It doesn’t. It’s a curse.
Let it (missing out) burn in this playing group over the summer.
We ain’t winning ■■■■ this year and the last few weeks have proven that. Let’s make it when we are a genuine show of actually winning one.

It’s great to have someone on this forum who has such an accurate insight into the player psyche and thoughts.
I’m sure none of our more senior players will be thinking about their 0-4 (some of them 0-5) finals record before playing one.

Horrid place. It was a onecer for me, I thought the smell up there was leakage from the gasometers. I was probably that blokes belch.
Victoria Park in the 60s was the worst, most hostile place I ever went to, I was in Iraq, Victoria Park was worse.

I was pleasantly surprised by todays game. Thought it was reasonable standard and we played better than I expected,better than what the general tone of blitz suggests anyway.
Loving the way Hobbs goes in, thoughts tsatas showed enough to never play vfl again and loved what Baldwin brought with his kicking. Confirmed to me that he should have been in as soon as Ridley went down.
Was very critical of guelfi at half time but credit where due he was a significant influence on better 3rd term with our improved fwd pressure and especially in the last. That is the std he has to keep.

More than enough for his second game. He played better than his mate George Wardlaw, who doesn’t seem to do much except tackle. Clearly , based on the endless adoration of George that I hear, he must sometimes play better than he did today.
Tsatas 23 disposals and 4 clearances and a goal from 60% game time I am really pleased with that.
