Not trust in this team whatsoever! We have way too many players who’s gap between their best and worst is massive. And we can’t handle any sort of pressure that an opposition throws at us. Decision making and composure just goes to water.
Individually:
Fantasia- not sure if his heart is in it. If he wants to go home at the end of the year I’d do it. Ditto Mckenna. Either you’re in or you’re out.
Hibberd is not an AFL player. I’d rather Clarke. Hibberd is built like Tarzan but plays like Jane. Clarke has his deficiencies but at least you know he’ll fight tooth and nail for every ball. Also think it’s time we give Mozzie a run.
What was the point of dropping Gleeson for Redman? A guy who is composed and clean for a panic merchant who runs around in circles. I do believe in Redman… but at the moment he’s out of form.
If we are going to survive the next few weeks Hooker has to go forward. We can’t keeping relying on Townsend and Laverde as key forwards. Hooker will either mark the ball or bring ball down to ground for Tippa and other small forwards. Whether this means BZT comes in and plays back I’m not sure but the forwards we have just aren’t working.Getting rid of Mitch Brown has come back to bite us on the butt. He wasn’t a superstar but he was at least durable and consistent. We put all our hopes on Bellchambers, Ambrose, Joe D, Stewart when they were all injured or injury prone. Townsend might be great for pressure but we also need him to get the ball and hit the scoreboard which he just isn’t doing.
Devon Smith needs to decide if he wants to be a leader. At the moment he is playing selfish football. His knock before he came to us was he was a selfish footballer. He proved them wrong in 2018 but at the moment he is living up to his early reputation.
The second Draper is ready he needs to come in. Phillips and Bellchambers just aren’t doing it. Phillips is a good back up ruckman but tonight showed modern ruckman will just towel him up in general play. For a 28 year out who should be in his peak physical condition he loses he footing way too much.
When things aren’t going our way we have to find a way to get Tippa in the game. And not when we’re 7 goals down. Whether that’s spells on the ball or on the wing… whatever but we are a better team when he is getting his hands on the footy.
Did anyone seriously think that we were a chance to win tonight?
What on earth have we shown that produced this confidence? Was it because we were sitting “top 4”? Give me a break…
All 4 wins were very lucky and the losses were well and truly deserved.
Shiel, Stringer, Heppell, Daniher, Ambrose all missing.
We know damn well that the umpiring will be consistently lopsided against us each week.
Unfortunately, what we witnessed tonight is the reality of our year.
We looked small, undersized, unskilled, yes we are ■■■■. We are going no where unless we get a decent ruck and some midfield strength. We just got pushed aside tonight.
i’ve wasted enough money on essendon over the years, i’d definitely be up to donate to something else instead that actually might have a chance at improving in my lifetime.
The lack of forward structure is really hurting us, we can’t keep relying on smack as our only tall option. We have to try hooker up forward for the rest of the reason and bring BZT back in and develop him as our future FB.
We lack so much size and midfield class, sure we’re missing shiel, heppell and occasionally stringer running through there but we were cut up by the dogs tonight.
We have no composure when using the ball, it’s just a handball to another guy who kicks it down the line and it ends up being an intercept mark to the opposition.
Smith really is a shadow of the player he was from 2018
