It is good to see some media heat being applied.
He’s referring to his work post the Saga. I’m certainly no fan of Worsfold, but he took over the club at it’s lowest point and did an ok job. Saying that, aside from the end of 2018, we have been pitiful.
I’ve heard people refer to his post saga work but I struggle to find any evidence.
Do we look like a club that’s any better off?
I think the club is under just as much heat now due to expectation.
I meant more the management of the players and their mental health.
spot on
I’ve said it a hundred times but I would sack Xavier.
Remove him and then the person in charge can start to mould the club in a different way.
Xavier won’t make tough calls because he is the one responsible for employing the football department. Would look bad to sack the people you hired.
Its why he “managed” Woosha out rather than sack him.
Honest question but do the players look like they are enjoying footy?
I just aren’t seeing any evidence of a strong group.
Thats really not good xavier has said hes staying untill they win a flag. Thats not happening for a long time so are we really gonna be stuck with his ■■■■ forever? lol
We have an incoming President.
Cant imagine he’s going to make a difference though.
Seems like an Essendon man unfortunately.
I said for the first couple of years. If you look through the history, I have been calling for his head for 3 years.
I’m not sure that Rutten is gonna be any better TBH.
Agree 100%. Might be a nice guy but he’s not ruthless enough. And the comment about him not sacking people because it would make him look bad for appointing them is apt. The last place I worked before my current role, 2 new people joined the company and from the start both were a poor fit, not just in terms of their competency, but also culturally. As much as they showed their incompetence, the people hiring them refused to end their tenures during the probation period, partially I feel due to the fact it would make themselves look bad for hiring them in the first place. I left that organisation nearly a year ago now, but they finally gave them their marching orders, using COVID-19 as a very convenient out to cut ties.
Another geek who we never hear from that takes his orders from the coteries.
EFC love shuffling deck chairs on the titanic. It’s infuriating.
Our culture is very meek and that’s why we keep getting the same results.
It’s a worrying trend that we get good players in and turn them into passionless and complacent players.
Saad and Stringer seem to be immune from our disease but both Shiel and Smith have regressed this year. The players just don’t look like they enjoy playing footy.
I personally think that’s all about leadership. Strong leaders demand a certain level of engagement and we don’t appear to have the people that want to have those conversations.
The fans saved the club during and post saga Worsfold was just there.
Loving the commentary, but i doubt anyone inside Essendon actually care or feel it.
Heppell has been pretty quiet in the past few weeks. I know he’s not playing but he’s still the captain of the club and yet I haven’t heard a single thing.
Has he been spotted at Maccas recently?
Robbo calls us old but then highlights the fact we are 11th oldest list???
Yes zacka Bellchambers Hurley and hooker are basically done but none of them have been good this year.
Out top 5 best and fairest are 27 or younger so don’t agree with him on that side of things
Agree with Killer Mike: we are meek. I don’t think we’ve got over the Saga in that regard. We’re far too ready to please others, the AwFuL in particular. We really need a large dose of ‘mongrel’ in the way we go about it.
What happens next year when the same players are injured?
History tells you, Hooker, Heppell, Laverde, Daniher, Fantasia will be injured for long stints again. If they are still with us that is!
We’re too afraid to upset anyone, bunch of nerds
