Happy with the win and you can only beat who your are playing.
Port, Melbourne and perhaps west coast (W) this week.
Collingwood and Sydney will account for us easily and I think our game vs North will be about where a young team is going. Ie if Scott gets the win v kangas im a happy supporter.
Norths defence being ordinary but otherwise they are stacked for young talent.
Getting firm in my mind we are a 10-14th side this year.
Any higher and it’s a bit of luck, any lower it’s the result of a bad trot with injuries or some form.
I think that we would seem
On W/L ahead of where we are.
I was really hoping we’d have a positive percentage this year, I think that’s still a goal we should have though it feels like a bit of a stretch from 2-2 and 90%. 9-12th with 100%+ would feel like a sustainable step forward. We’ve only had a positive percentage once in the last six years!
You also need to adjust for the inevitable post-bye collapse.
The season is a write off, and made even worse with long term injuries.
This idea that we can pick up a couple of 26-27 year olds who weren’t good enough to be drafted prior, in the MSD and they will carry us into finals…… it’s simply looney tunes stuff.
Played each of Freo, GC and GWS at the G who have traditionally sucked there.
Only travelled once (WC plus Gather Round).
Also the ease of draw was based on only playing Hawthorn twice from last years top 8. But that discounts playing Collingwood and GC twice who could both be top 4 this year (but missed last year).
Smarter posters than you and I were seeing the warning signs even when we were 8 - 2 - 1
I was s*cked in as well by the win/loss column, but it was a mirage.
Crapola, fall over the line wins against ■■■■■ teams (St.K, Adel, WC x 2, Rich)
Even the inaccurate Hawks gave us trouble when they couldn’t win a game early in the season.
North went with us for all barr a 15min patch when we gapped them.
You’ve become an absolute Master at kidding yourself.
This is the thread for it though.
