LID on 2025- JUST FOR THE USUAL CREW

Happy with the win and you can only beat who your are playing.

Port, Melbourne and perhaps west coast (W) this week.

Collingwood and Sydney will account for us easily and I think our game vs North will be about where a young team is going. Ie if Scott gets the win v kangas im a happy supporter.

Norths defence being ordinary but otherwise they are stacked for young talent.

Getting firm in my mind we are a 10-14th side this year.

Any higher and it’s a bit of luck, any lower it’s the result of a bad trot with injuries or some form.

I think that we would seem
On W/L ahead of where we are.

I was really hoping we’d have a positive percentage this year, I think that’s still a goal we should have though it feels like a bit of a stretch from 2-2 and 90%. 9-12th with 100%+ would feel like a sustainable step forward. We’ve only had a positive percentage once in the last six years!

Weld it

Hmmm

Let’s see where we go from here. Don’t feel like we have the fire power on the list to be much more than a 100% side.

If minus the outlier games like Adelaide we are conceding on average less than 100 points then that’s great.

It’s where we want to be. We have prioritised recruiting defenders until Caddy and Kako. So we just need to work on kicking a score

Must say I haven’t really looked at our draw too closely

Yep because scraping over the line against gorth and west coast must mean we’re on the right track

Take that doom merchants

Even if we beat the Bulldogs and then the Tigers to go 7 - 3, we’ll be struggling to better 11 wins.

Even Mr Positivity Nino predicted yesterday that we would only achieve 10 wins given the same scenario listed above.

Our Draw is horrendous from Rd.12 onwards.

You also need to adjust for the inevitable post-bye collapse.

The season is a write off, and made even worse with long term injuries.

This idea that we can pick up a couple of 26-27 year olds who weren’t good enough to be drafted prior, in the MSD and they will carry us into finals…… it’s simply looney tunes stuff.

I’m just waiting for Brad to drop some kids to shoehorn some experience back into the team

I’ll leave it with you.

If I hadn’t watched any football over the 20 years, or even more so, the last two years, i’d probably be trying to troll the Lid On thread too.

I mean, any little slither of postive football is all we need to celebrate that the dark times are finally over.

I thought Melbourne were supposed to have an easy draw. This chart is good news for the Melbourne Death-ride 2025 thread.

They’ve had their easy bit.

Played WC, Richmond, North and Essendon.

Played each of Freo, GC and GWS at the G who have traditionally sucked there.

Only travelled once (WC plus Gather Round).

Also the ease of draw was based on only playing Hawthorn twice from last years top 8. But that discounts playing Collingwood and GC twice who could both be top 4 this year (but missed last year).

They’re in trouble.

You’re falling for it again.

Like the wife who believes the husband won’t drink again.

Last year we had a great win against GWS on the 11th May after already downing the Dogs, drawing with the Pies and beating Adelaide in SA.

Then we fell off the cliff.

This year our wins so far are even less impressive.

Don’t do it to yourself.

No we weren’t Nino.

Smarter posters than you and I were seeing the warning signs even when we were 8 - 2 - 1

I was s*cked in as well by the win/loss column, but it was a mirage.
Crapola, fall over the line wins against ■■■■■ teams (St.K, Adel, WC x 2, Rich)
Even the inaccurate Hawks gave us trouble when they couldn’t win a game early in the season.
North went with us for all barr a 15min patch when we gapped them.

You’ve become an absolute Master at kidding yourself.
This is the thread for it though.
