Would still be in Norf’s best 22.

Kyle Martin, probably Noble Park’s best ever player and one of the best local footy players of all time pulling the pin after this season.

Long day today but the signs were there. Having played in the last 4 GF’s and winning 2 of them we really came back to the pack this year. Ended up sneaking into finals and as luck would have it with finals ground allocations done at the start of the year we ended up in an elimination final at our opponents home ground. Lost by a few goals but never looked like winning.
Club isn’t sitting idle though and we have discussed which players will be moved on a the coach has a meeting in the next few weeks where his fate will be decided. The reserves are still in finals so will wait until they are finished but strong chance the coach will be moved on. This year was simply unacceptable

The Hervey Bay Bombers once again win the flag - four in a row. Just need our AFL namesakes to catch up.
The Fruitbats Bar was in full swing - not a sober bartender in sight.

What’s your main source of funding and sponsorship?

We survive on govt. grants for infrastructure, local businesses for sponsorships, (broke without them), and lots of thirsty locals - like any local club.

Montgomery has been good today for centrals and the seventeen year old in sharp very impressive

Saints U/17s smashed Ararat yesterday.

Compliments to the Nhill catering. Being home to a duckery(?), we were treated to duck burritos and duck fat chips.

Pulling the pin at Noble, expected to front up at Springvale Districts for large $$$

Those suburb names do ring a distant bell.
Back in the ‘70s and when the Federal league (FFL) was a thing, the three SE locals and tbf main protagonists were Springy, Noble and Oakleigh Districts. Now that was rough and hard football … more brawls than throw-ins when any of those met on a Saturday afternoon. Often some decent football though.

Eventually that league folded and (I think) the SESFL emerged. Springy went to the VFA. Anyone decent enough would go to South Melbourne, Dees or a VFA club from memory.

You’d reckon that Donald would be the natural home for such an enterprise.

Dad played in the FDL for Highett through the 60s. Some of the stories he used to tell :grimacing:

We moved into Glen Huntly with our cricket in about 1976. Bentleigh, McKinnon, Highett were pretty much gone by 1980.

A massive upset in the Premier Division of the EDFL. Pascoe Vale beat Keilor in the 2nd Semi and advance direct to the GF in a fortnight. Keilor have dropped just the one game in the H&A this season coming off an undefeated 2023, but the Panthers played outstanding footy to knock them off by 40 points at Coburg City Oval. Keilor will face the winner of tomorrow’s 1st Semi Final between Greenvale and Strathmore in the Prelim.

Lorne 2.5 to Alvie 7.8 nine minutes into the last quarter kick the next 6 goals to one point to go into the Grand Final.

Looks like they kicked 3.1 in the last 45 seconds + time on.

Came across this local scorecard. Must’ve been a hell of a breeze or something.

There was a 70km wind at one end. But huge effort from terang. Ben Cunnington kicked 6 in the first for Warrnambool. Terang just stuck at it all day and got up with two seconds to go.
Arundel kicked one from 50 from boundary. Was on the wrong side for a right footer too
