Oh, I played in a game years back where that happened to someone.
One of my teammates slid in legs first for the ball and the opponents leg got stuck under him (it was a dog move, I even called him out for it as a dog move). Game called off, he was stuck on the ground for around an hour before an ambulance showed up.
Iāve seen 3 similar.
One teammate (took about 2 hours for the ambo to arrive) and 2 opposition players.
Alvie had 6 goals scored against them again to go out in straight sets after finishing on top.
Was it windy?
yes straight across the ground ,didnt favor either end.
Predictably, Keilor made amends for its 2nd SF loss last weekend with a solid 39-point win against Strathmore in the Preliminary Final today to set up a GF match-up with Pascoe Vale at Windy Hill next Saturday. I canāt see lightning striking twice and the Panthers prevailing a 2nd time in a fortnight against the Bluesā¦
Boooo
Repeat of last year in the Hampden League. South beat Terang-Mortlake (coached by Lewis Taylor, ex-Rising Star) comfortably.
So South W Roosters vs North W Eaglesā¦
South will have Dan Nicholson (ex-Melbourne), Josh Saunders (St Kilda) but not have Wil Rantall available since heāll be playing for the GWV Rebels.
North have Nathan Vardy as playing coach and should also have Michael Barlow and Steven Motlopā¦Barlow might be playing for Werribee in the VFLā¦not sure
Who do you support? I grew up in Pascoe Vale, but they were the enemy. Only saving grace was the Bomber Jumper they wore.
Both Clubs have had some Bomber Players come through there ranks. Though Pascoe Vale have more, reckon Harvey and Olarenshaw are the two best in the bunch.
Pascoe Vale Bomber Players
Ian Crowley
Jim Demetriou
Bob Greenwood
Kyle Hardingham
Wayne Headlam
Barry Matthews
Syd McGain
Gary Parkes
David Starbuck
Keilor Player Bomber Players
George Spero
John Ellis
Mark Harvey
Ricky Olarenshaw
Shane Huggard
Jayden Laverde
I donāt really have a team as such. I didnāt grow up in the area but Iāve been living in Essendon and surrounding suburbs for nearly a decade since I came back to Melbourne. I live closest to Douttas ground, so Iāve been to watch them a few times this year, but overall I like to go, support local footy, have a relatively cheap day, a few beers, etc and watch a pretty good standard of play. I prefer it to the VFL if Iām honest.
Over the years Iāve been following the comp really like what Keilor have been doing under McGuane. Their battles with Aberfeldie, especially when Abers were coached by Adam Potter, were epic. The 2022 GF is probably the best Iāve seen between Abers and Strathmore. Even at FT, Strathmore won in ET. I went 2 weeks ago barracking for the upset (Pascoe Vale) and they were superb. I canāt see them repeating the dose this Saturday as McGuane wouldāve run through that game with a fine toothed comb. It would be some effort for Pacco to win. Leigh Tudor has done a great job in his first season.
Lorne won against Irrewarra / Beac (bombers).
Ed Curnow of Fark Carlton fame coaching.
Balwyn 2-point winners over Ringwood East in Premier EFNL. Good effort for Ringwood East in just their second season in this division (their reserves won the flag).
Narre Warren win seniors and reserves in the old YVMDFL . . . And will prompting be heading off to the SFL next year.
Not exactly a goalfest in the Hampden League Grand Final with South Warrnambool 4.5.29 pipping North Warrnambool 3.10.28.
Ouch!
North were getting guest appearances from Stephen Motlop and Michael Barlow.
North were a couple of points up at 3/4 time, coming home with the breezeā¦not a Warrnambool breeze, which you guys refer to as a gale, but South scored the only goal from 50 metres on a 45 degree angle.
Cheltenham beat Dingley in a grind, not much of a spectacal to watch.
Seems to have been a bit of a theme this year!
Voss won a premiership today Peel defeating East Perth WAFL grand final
