London Bridge Attack

Yeah, it reads more like a domestic… and is it confirmed the call was actually from the culprit, and not a prankster?

I do find it funny how everyone and everything used to be “linked to” AQ, and then suddenly they were out of fashion.

There is obviously many variations in the way Muslims live their religious life. A very good TV doco on SBS called " Among the Beleivers " describing the conflict between Abdul Aziz Ghazi a noted radical religious leader ,infamous for the so called Red Mosque and a supporter of Isis ,Taliban and Bin Laden , and the local people as well as the Pakistani government. Should still be available on SBS On Demand. Found it gave me some interesting insights into Muslim problems. Certainly a lot more enlightening than the last 600 pages of this thread.

HAP,BomberBen and Big Allan understand the issue better than most - Some of the attacks are by practicising Muslims, but many of the attacks are by ‘ill’ people who are not Muslim’s or practicing Muslims, but hide or are claimed by ISIS - London was on edge from the terrorist attacks perpetrated by the IRA from the 1960’s to the 1990’s - Threat of terrorism is nothing new in London and Greater England.

My understanding is this siege could be related to the Vice Industry - Though the media will try to link it to terrorism.

I can’t be sure,. but where that guy went was the mall, and there were lots of obstacles in there, and he came off Swanston, straight into the footpath IIRC.

But he couldn’t have if they were in place.

I’d thought about it long before these incidents,… everytime a car jumped the curb in accidents, or some old codger or new driver put it in drive rather than reverse and ended up in a Coffee shop, I’d wonder why these things,…

…weren’t installed on every road where vehicles travel alongside any street/road where there’s a large concentration of pedestrians, … shopping strips, etc.

Of course the answer was “cost”, but they would only need to be 4 ft high or so, and every 6 feet, so they don’t obstruct people, & even have them around the corners where they wait at lights.

Normal steel inside to reduce cost, stainless sheaf so they’re forever, and look good, removable where needed for Emergency vehicles etc.

They should just be installed in any new road building project / shopping centres etc as a matter of course for mine, … and retro fitted elsewhere asap.

Would cost more and take longer than the NBN to install, and I’d imagine a truck would make light work of those

The way the headline is shortened makes it look like exactly opposite of what it is.

It looked deliberately ambiguous to me. “Aha! They’re all behind it. I knew it! Oh, wait…”

Ah no. Unfortunately this looks to be very much real.

What’s really disturbing is how the ■■■■ was he only given 5 years, out in three for this?!?!:

Gunman jailed for violent home invasion in 2013

In October 2013, Brighton gunman Yacqub Khayre was jailed for five years and six months for a violent home invasion.

A court heard Khayre was high on ice and armed with a knife when he broke into a Dallas home and assaulted a woman and her father.

He pleaded guilty to charges of aggravated burglary, theft, intentionally causing injury, recklessly causing injury, and giving a false name

Terrorism is severe sociopathic behaviour. Regardless of what drives their motives, they have no regard for anyone.

It makes no difference what motives they have doctored up to commit mass murder. It simply is mass murder.

I disagree.

Most terrorist attacks have been well planned with a political motive. Rarely is it about death and destruction.

These recent events are much more like the mass murderers in the USA, where seemingly the main motive is death of many.

Seriously why was he allowed to stay in the country after such a violent act? WHY?
He should have been on the first flight back to Somalia and his visa given to someone who would have contributed rather than taken away from society.

So many people over there would risk death for the chance to get a better life for themselves and their family. To contribute to making this place a better country. Yet we keep this guy here after a violent home invasion and leave them over there.

Anyone else over the moon their tax dollars went towards locking this guy up rather than a ticket home?

I knew it was a matter of time before someone posted a link to that f–kwit.

You didn’t watch the video did you?

He simply hosted the footage on the website, can find another if you need.

Meh, some foreigners here go to prison twenty times and still don’t get deported. Government is full of it.

Refugee, life long criminal, part of an Islamic terror plot, out on bail, on terror watch list.

Still in Australia lol.

Is now making a good impression of a colander though.

Have a read of the terror charges he was a acquitted, but his mates were charged in 2010 for trying to shoot up an Army barracks.

I bet those mentioned are on the streets as well and those mosques are still operating in Melbourne, no worries mate.

Not sure why they are calling it a terror attack (other than to continue to stir up fear in the community) just a nutter with a death wish. Waited till SOG turned up before attacking. He had a shotgun, could of caused a whole lot damage by walking through the city or Southbank. Instead went to some serviced apartments with a history of drug & escort use and waited for SOG.

Shouldn’t have been out on parole, probably shouldn’t have even been in the country although he was an Australian citizen, but this just doesn’t seem to me to be a terror attack.
