Make the US Politics Thread Great Again

It’s great to see so many people keeping the memory of the great man going. Probably the most exciting player of the '70s.

Here is a fascinating read that suggests Trump is vital right now…

Unfortunately a short term Sugar hit from the massive tax cuts for the rich, all but burnt out and things are reverting so they’re saying.

Only this time when it goes backwards, The Gov will have way less Tax coming in to do anything about it.

agree that bipartisan politics can be very dangerous. Disagree on the authors forecast that Trump will put the Republicans in to the wilderness. Trump will lead himself into the Wilderness.

Lol are you ■■■■■■■ kidding me?

There’s not a shred of evidence which directly ties the Trump campaign to Russian collusion. Absolutely none.

By all means, please show me some tangible, concrete evidence of Russian meddling. You’re not going to find any.

All of the information that’s been released from the various indictments for Flynn, Cohen, Manafort and Papadopolous has come up completely empty in terms of anything tangible that points to ‘collusion’.

Let’s get this straight. Trump won because

  1. HRC was (is) a ■■■■ candidate - FFS, we know from WikiLeaks that the DNC WANTED Trump as the Rep. candidate and that they spectacularly ■■■■■■ up;
  2. To a lesser extent, the electoral college works, remember, HRC WON the popular vote.

Also, ■■■■ like Hilary not even campaigning in Wisconsin for example - what kind of arrogance is that?

Don’t obfuscate. Her new plea deal has to do with not registering as a foreign agent. Nothing more.

Cohen sentenced to 3 years.

I loved his tweet wishing a “Happy Diwali” to all the “Sikhs and Buddhists” completely missing the Hindus whose festival tis be.

Of all the likely flippers to flip I didn’t see this one coming:

What would be the evidence?

I keep reading no collusion, no evidence. But what is the standard people are expecting to see?

Do you expect Trump and Putin planned out a strategy? What do you think Russia could do other than hack emails and influence media.

Heartwarming.

Show us evidence of the hacks as a start. Members of VIPS (including William Binney) have gone on record to say they believe the ‘hack’ theory doesn’t hold any water.

Then there’s WikiLeaks who have categorically denied that the cache of data from the DNC servers came from Russia. Tell me who do you believe? One of the great publishers of our time who has a flawless track record of publishing correct, factual information, or the intelligence community of the US who has a long history of lies, deception and obfuscation?

Look at this objectively - why were the DNC servers not investigated by the FBI? Why? That alone should ring massive alarm bells.

At a Congressional Committee just yesterday, the Google CEO just said that Russia bought $4,700 worth of advertising with respect to the 2016 election.

The biggest election fraud’s are the outrageous gerrymandering and voter suppression perpetrated by the Republicans and to a lesser extent, the Democrats

Good reply.

Who do you think hacked the DNC server then if it wasn’t the Russians and presumably the US intelligence.

Objective guy.

“Kenn White, a security expert and former DHS adviser, agreed that the FBI wouldn’t have expected direct access to DNC’s computers, “The FBI had one of the best cyber security firms in the world giving them forensics, and going in depth and reverse engineering to the byte level these implants and turning it over.”

In some versions of the servergate conspiracy theory now espoused by Trump, nothing less than physical possession of the hardware will suffice, because Crowdstrike, a respected security firm helmed by a former senior FBI agent, might be part of the deep state’s efforts to frame Putin. Whitescoffs at that notion, noting that National Republican Congressional Committee is one of Crowdstrike’s customers.

“I’ve done incident response for defense contractors and healthcare groups, this is all standard practice,” said White. “It’s completely defensible in terms of best practices and what was going on.”

“We were in close contact and worked cooperatively with the FBI. Any suggestion that they were denied access to what they wanted for their investigation is completely incorrect.”

It’s also consistent with the Department of Justice’s electronic evidence manual, which recommends capturing images when practical even when the FBI is executing a search warrant against a uncooperative suspect. When the computers belong to a cooperating victim, seizing the machines is pretty much out of the question, said James Harris, a former FBI cybercrime agent who worked on a 2009 breach at Google that’s been linked to the Chinese government.

“In most cases you don’t even ask, you just assume you’re going to make forensic copies,” said Harris, now vice president of engineering at PFP Cyber. “For example when the Google breach happened back in 2009, agents were sent out with express instructions that you image what they allow you to image, because they’re the victim, you don’t have a search warrant, and you don’t want to disrupt their business.”

There’s a final bit of evidence that the FBI got what it wanted from the DNC, and it was filed in the U.S. District Court in Washington, D.C. last Friday: 29-pages of inside details showing exactly how and when the GRU’s hackers moved through the DNC’s network on their mission to help Trump.

If the president really wants to know what the DNC server is saying, it’s all in the indictment against Putin’s hackers. He just has to listen.

Ah yes, the FBI accepting the word of CrowdStrike without any independent confirmation is just standard practice for an allegation of that seriousness. Please.

Ok. You’re going to keep believing what you want, that’s fine. Much as we’re now entering a period of mitigation of climate change effects, the news is in, we are also living in a time when more than ever you have to choose the lesser of evils as you see them. You seem to have chosen your poison and you’re sharing it on a footy website. All power to you. Or Trump, whichever.

“The long answer is that there is no “server”—there are many different servers and pieces of internet infrastructure in question, and the United States intelligence community and independent security researchers have examined much of it and have all reached the same conclusion: Russia hacked the DNC.”

Would you hold this position if the result was reversed?
