Had an interesting chat with a couple of full time Air National Guard servicemen. Being military I expected them to be pro-Republican and pro-Trump. Complete opposite, they were truly embarrassed.

On the withdrawal from Afghanistan, they were quite happy. All were tired of the deployments, couldn’t see much value from their presence. Didn’t want to keep regularly be sent away from their families.

Where did you stand on the kids attending the climate change protest a couple of months ago? Were you okay with it or against it?

Of course we can mate.
I have a couple of ex relatives I’d like to get out as well.

And another likely troll comes out of the closet wearing no pants. Try harder at least

How is someone a troll just because they ask a ■■■■■■ question? How ridiculous.

It’s a leading question and it compares kids trying to get politicians off their arses to do something about the greatest threat to their future to a bunch of MAGA Merch wearing children of southern privilege on a church condoned rally against women’s reproductive rights. You reckon that’s a fairdinkum comparison or you reckon he’s baiting? Get real.

Did you actually read Bugmans objections? His position was that they are teenagers & therefore couldn’t have a nuanced opinion on the matter & therefore shouldn’t even be there. Its absolutely appropriate then to ask his opinion on similar aged kids protesting about an issue most would consider way more complicated than abortion.

Of course it’s fair dinkum. People are allowed to protest, doesn’t matter if you agree with it or not, nor does it matter if they’re children. It was a legit question and you just had a big ■■■■■■ hysterical sook.

I’m not anti-abortion FWIW either.

Fine with it. They’re likely to be affected by climate change a lot longer than older people. Similarly, I was fine with the Parkland school kids protesting for action on gun control - they had real world experience.

I’m not against high school children protesting things they understand. JBomber - climate change is science. It’s far simpler than abortion.

These kids have no place protesting abortion when they’ve barely got a concept on relationships or the complexity of the situations that would lead a woman to seek an abortion. I’m in my late 30s and (fortunately) I barely do. It always amazes me for a country that seems to value individual freedoms above all else, there never seems to be a shortage of men wanting to choose what a woman does with their bodies.

FWIW - I don’t disagree with what Bugman said. I highly doubt all those kids even have strong opinions on the matter & its very likely many will change opinions as they get older. Simply attending a religious school doesn’t mean you believe everything the church stands for or represents . They were there on a school excursion FFS.

One issue affects a kids present and future as s/he perceives it, it’s a universal issue and the aim is to bring about something positive. The other involves teenage boys waving placards and yelling slogans to the effect that a woman’s right to decide what happens to her body should be removed from her, informed by a religious organisation and presumably condoned if not organised by a private religious school, and, for some salt, wearing what constitute virtual uniforms of an administration that will go down in history as one of the most arch, craven, oppressive and utterly ■■■■■■ in US history.

That’s it for me, I’m not interested in communicating with people who willfully act the simpleton to disguise something more sinister in their make up.

Wow.
That last is…interesting.

Referring to trolls as I read them, in general

I meant the excursion bit.

Maybe it was a self funded boys own adventure. Just a bit of fun

Holy ■■■■!! I’m actually genuinely embarrassed for you.

If one question has you crying like this, I can’t wait to see what this one does:

Where do you stand on the death penalty?

Troll was too strong, just read too many baiting posts here today. But you seriously can’t see a distinction? If not I’m embarrassed for you too

Nope!! Sorry, don’t see any distinction at all.

If kids are allowed to protest one serious issue, then other kids are allowed to protest another serious issue. Or we can just say kids shouldn’t be involved with protests at all. Both are universal issues and should be allowed to be debated/protested.

I’m a strict atheist and don’t care what a women does with her body. But I can really understand why people are against babies being aborted, it really isn’t this ludicrous belief. There are lots of non-religious people who are against it, and also a lot of women.

They see it as an issue of life, not a womens rights issue. You can squawk at that all you like but unfortunately that’s just how it is.
