This is from the Washington Post So were these white trash when they voted for Obama or did some miraculous transformation come over them in 2016.

Something like 55% of eligible voters bothered to vote, which was typical of the previous elections, but many who had voted Democrat in the past just could not vote for Clinton.

Anyone can beat him, its some pretty basic maths.
Will he get more votes than last time? Unlikely if the election was held tomorrow. His base can be as amped as it wants he still probably needs to win more votes than last time.
Will the democrats get more votes? Absolutely, its just a question of how much more. Hillary was an unpopular candidate and its likely people who didn’t vote last time will.
As Donmania mentioned before, the election was decide by 100k votes in a handful of states.

More people voted this time than in Obamas re-election. So why would extra people vote next time, unless there is a star candidate like Lebron ?
Never underestimate a person like Trump, he will build support for the next election.
The Democrats basically need an untarnished candidate and Trump is done. Hillary was so distasteful that voters felt they were picking between the least worst option. A decent candidate that can turn out the Dem base & angry swing voters has a very very good chance.
There’s been a 10-15% swing for the Dems vs Trump’s 2016 result on average across all the recent elections. That’s catastrophic for the Republicans in the mid-terms and very difficult for Trump to win back.
It’s looking like the Dems will clean up at every level later this year. It will give them control of drawing electoral maps, which will weaken the Republicans hold into the future.

If a Dem can win an Alabama senate seat, they can win the next presidential election.
The greens got 1 million votes in 2016 yet only 400k in 2012. If the people who hated Hillary and voted green had instead voted democrats, the democrats would likely have won.

I don’t have conservat credentials that would satisfy you or anyone else who’s been drinking the cool aid. However what I said was true, despite more liberal views on most issues I’ve chosen the best candidate / / party and where I have lived it’s been the conservative.
Very true. The only person Trump could ever beat was Hillary and the only person Hillary had a chance to beat was Trump. Both parties put up flawed candidates.
I’d agree with the 1st part not the second. I think Hillary would have beaten any of the other Republican candidates & not just because they didn’t have the profile of Trump. I believe Hillary cost herself the election by her reaction to Trump. Would she have alienated so many with comments like " basket of deplorables" had she been up against say Cruz? I think they underestimated Trump more than they would have a candidate with more political experience. Their arrogance especially early in the campaign played right into Trumps hands.

Dems got arrogant, were obsessed with getting the 1st female Pres in after the first black one, thought Dump was unelectable and completely neglected the rust belt.
