Match review for Win 2

Where was the goal umpires sense if occasion calling the long set shot touched?

If Hooker AND Hurley are back next year, Mitch Brown either becomes a VERY handy depth player to cover injury or more likely an extremely dangerous and versatile defender/forward.

Put the missus on notice I’m expecting babies every week next season. 100% strike rate.

Ambrose is a star.

Don’t want to sour a good win, well done to the whole team for plugging away and grinding it out.

But…what am I missing that you’re seeing with Ambrose?

Did you see the last contest?

wow!

It's even better when you know the maggots were trying their hardest to get GC up in the last ten minutes.

Last ten? Try last half.

I’m afraid I abused umpire #2 rather badly in the 3rd quarter. I doubt he heard me though. Pinged us at every opportunity and ignored their failed disposals. And that 50 metre against Zaka. Worst decision of the year. May played on immediately.

He gave Lynch an absolute towelling. Got a cheap goal from a free and the other from a quick break from a turnover but other than that had no impact on the game.

RM7 getting a bit carried away, and why not given we have just one our first match for fark knows how long. Ambrose isn’t a STAR and he most likely never will be but that is part of the reason I love him. This bloke was playing for Old Xaverians in the Amateurs a few years ago FFS. His work ethic and desire to get EVERYTHING out of himself is to be applauded. The type of player who’d walk over hot coals for his teammates. You need these type of players. Ask the key forwards he has played on in the last 2 months if it were easy? I bet they don’t say yes.

Yaaaaaaaaaaaaaaasssssssssssss. I am definitely late for work though because of this. Worth it.

well said HD

How great is that?
Can’t even find the words to describe the feeling I have, so I am sure the players must be over the freaking moon.

I will savour the win, watch the replay again and look forward to finally deleting the Melbourne win off the box.

Go Bombers!!

Defence was amazing in that last quarter considering the ammount of entries they had. Hartley was gutsy as and Dea just wow. The players deserved that today

Tears in Turkey

It would be nice to have hurely back, but I just don’t know where we could fit him in.

Just joking!

Not trying to dismiss his game today (think he played ok), but from what I saw most of the Lynch spoiling came from group efforts (which is fine) and not necessarily any particular one on one mastery.
All told there big forwards had 12 scoring shots on goal, albeit from an overload of entries, and only 6 of those were goals in large part to wayward kicking.
The defense stuck to their job and performed admirably, but I thought Hartley was the clear best of our defense.

That was delightful. Some day soon Zerrett's going to start getting the level of praise he deserves outside of Essendon, absolute machine. Long showed some good signs, McKenna is turning into a genuine AFL player.

Charlie will be on his mantle and the comms specialists will all be writing articles about the kid with the famous name who came from nowhere

Don’t under estimate the morale boost of Jake Long playing his first game. The whole club was up and about this week. Adrenaline was high.

Fair enough, probably focusing too much on the “star” comment.

I was a bit lost with what to do with myself after that.

So I’ve followed wob’s lead and opened a bottle of Kraken and hope I’m not too sick for work tomorrow.

Hartley, Dea and Ambrose are insane. Hartley threw himself around like he hasn’t before and that was after getting a nose job, Dea plays like it’s the last game of footy he’ll ever play and Ambrose smash.

The usual crew (Zerrett, Zaka, Bird) were immense as well. Daniher is going to tear games apart next season.
