Interestingly, Brisbane have been far more heavily scored against than us this year (2711 vs 2277) but we cant score. Neither can Freo.
I've gone back and forth a little on the whole spoon vs pride vs tanking issue this year. Now we reach this junction and every scenario makes me feel a little sick.
Now that we are so close, I don’t want to see us lose the incredible advantage of Pick 1 over 1 meaningless round 23 win. However unfortunately that meaningless round 23 game is against FC and I just can’t see myself ever feeling good about losing to them, ever. The thought that we could beat FC and then rely on Brisbane not to tank is not a very solid strategy as Bad News Bears are truly horrible.
I feel a little sick and probably will get a permaban… but I honestly wouldn’t mind a draw this week with us electing not to take a kick after the siren from the goal square to win the game…

Firstly they have the line wrong because it’s “up up”. Our theme follows the rhyming and scanning patterns of the original verse in “Sunny Side Up” where the first line ends with 2 short sharp syllables, “up up”, and the second line with a longer single syllable, “blue”, and they don’t rhyme. In the original only the third and fourth line rhyme.
I’m not a poet but I also think that if we had used “cup” in the second line the singer would have to stretch it out, “cuuup”, which would sound silly, or sing “cup cup” to match the necessary beats, which sounds equally stupid.
