Match review thread vs SHITNEY Round 2 2024

Not quite what I meant, Whitlam played it hard and straight but if Em shares those qualities;

ITS TIME.

It’s only round three. Tearing the house down shouldn’t be happening till least round five, and the mid season break at the most; last year at that stage Essendon was Jamie Lee Curtis and Carlton was Lindsay Lohan but it’s been freaky Friday ever since.

Surely we haven’t been that worked out.

Especially when we sacrifice attack to have extra players through the midfield.

I had no issues with what Draper did.

Far too often our meek forwards, give up because their run is blocked.

If you’re getting blocked from competing…. F*cking do something about it. Don’t just stand there and give up.

Team fitness seem to influence much of our issues.

Blakey, Gulden, Heeney and Campbell all use the ball so well. All academy players.

Not too hard when you have lots of academy picks and excellent off field setup. 2 head coaches in about 15 years or so?

you reckon dodoro could do it with swans golden goose?

No one was saying Sydney were nasty last year when they were bullying us like we were a mob of Auskickers….

Fark Sydney.

Bring on The Edge for mine….

They’ve been bullying us for years the bunch of pathetic,
whinging hypocrites. Absolutely pathetic to whinge when they get some of their own treatment back. Our chreer squad should have a giant box of tissues depicted on our banner next time we play them.

Move on guys. It really doesn’t matter.

Because our delivery into the forward line is pathetic and we have no defensive structure when there’s a turnover. All the mids just stand around looking at each other while the opposition run off and make space. The forwards don’t chase, there’s no crumbers around the pack and don’t setup across the centre to block the run. Tackling is also a problem for most guys.

Now this is a good idea.

Bartel and Leigh Matthews are loving the Essendon aggression.

Bartel loves it from Scott because it’s the first real sign of a shifting in our culture - referenced the unsociable hawks and the bloods culture.

Yeah it is a positive but I’d rather we fixed our defensive woes. Can Scott do that?

Of course Leigh enjoys it, probably wants us to go full Neville Bruns on someone

He was big on the controlled aggression. Similar to what Scott has been saying.

Bartel is saying it’s nice that we’re not the vanilla and bland club

It’s another Scott distraction IMO. Rather we win some games and talk about that.

Teams in 2000 shat bricks when they faced us what we did last night was our first step in getting that back we have to keep going with it. If it means we cop suspensions along the way so be it need to become a ruthless team again.
