Doesn’t drain well because of close proximity to Swan River. Not only that, the entire site is built on a bog…view Ascot down the road and the reason why they don’t have winter racing there. And the bastards still built houses closer to the Swan

Skimping on the playing surface is just so crap. It wouldn’t have cost much more as a % of the total to get it just right
The weather here in Perth is putrid this morning (i.e., …standard Melbourne conditions). Will play to our advantage. Cant wait to go to the game tonight!

Brad Scott said at a presser a while ago that every game is hard for us, and this is another one. It’s always hard to win in Perth. Freo are similar to us in many ways: they are a pretty good team with a guy who seems like a pretty good coach. The weather looks as though it might make things tough.
We can win it, and to win it we have to do the same things that are always needed for a win. Full on pressure and commitment from first bounce to last. Attack at every opportunity. Discipline.
If we play at our best, we’ll win. If we don’t, we won’t.
One good thing is that I don’t think the team plays scared. I don’t think they’ll be heading on to the field worrying about what Freo might do. I think they’ll be heading out intending to take this game right on and win it. They’ve played that way in almost every game this year and it’s been great to see it.
