Membership 2014

Would anyone be able to tell me whether or not the membership department will be open on Saturday at Windy Hill to go in in person?

Me and a few mates are going to get a reserved seat membership. Anyone with experience have any idea how will we be able to go about securing seats next to eachother?

Thanks.

Etihad reserved seating always ruins everything. MCG reserved seating is first in, best dressed. If you all want to sit together for Etihad home games, you will all need to have the same category membership (ie. all Bronze or all Silver).

Thanks.

Yeah we are all getting a bronze membership. I've never been a member before so I don't know how it works. How do we go about getting our seats next to each other once we are joined up. I emailed Essendon but they are probably busy with a lot of emails as they havnt gotten back to me yet.

Cheers

"Q.   I want to sit with friends and family at the football, which membership should I purchase? "

I am renewing my silver membership again but only home games. Im in canberra and really get it for the chance to get finals tickets. To be honest I’m so disgusted with the AFL I won’t go to any away games against ■■■■ kicker sides if my ticket in any ways help them.

I signed up at Windy hill with both my bro and a mate and was able to secure seats next to one another. Im upgrading my membership this season so hopefully we'll be able to get even better seats.

I would advise you to ring the club and give them all of your details so they can process your memberships separately and then put all of your seats next to each other. When I first joined as a teenager years ago it was hard copy membership applications which were posted out, and my friend and I just mailed them off in the same envelope and requested seats next to each other.
I want to upgrade to silver next year and asked the club if I can choose a seat next to my friends at the MCG - they already have silver seats. They wanted to know his address as well so I would have that kind of info ready to go before you call. hope that helps. :)

Well done on signing up and welcome!

Ditto...except I'm not in Canberra.

My mate went into Windy Hill yesterday and signed up for the Silver Membership home and away package, until now both he and I were AFL members with Essendon club support. He told the membership guy that I would be doing the same and we wanted seats together so he asked for my name and address so he could look me up on the computer and he entered seats for me against my membership number. I rang up this morning told him my name and then gave payment details and it was all done very promptly. :)

Anyone add a hoodie to their membership?

Thanks for all the help guys, sounds like it might be easier if we all go into windy hill together and get it done straight away.

Haven't posted here for a few years, for various reasons.
If any of you are "Advantage" Members (auto renewal), like I am, be sure to check your invoice online before your first payment is withdrawn. I've just noticed an "optional" Flight Plan donation as part of my renewal. It defaults in the on position, so to remove the charge, you need to login & uncheck the box next to it to avoid payingit. I have previously donated to Flight Plan (twice) & I think the club is being mischievously deceptive adding this charge. Just wanted to give you all the heads up instead of seeing a higher than usual charge to your bank accounts & credit cards. Go Bombers!

Mr Sunbury,

I agree with you 100%. I really do not like the way they have gone about it. I am really considering my membership and might just bump it right down due to their "in your face" attitude. I thought they may have learned not to treat the supporters as cash cows ready to be milked at every opportunity. EFC does not do membership at all well.

Come on guys - it's only $20.00 - I didn't have a problem with it - admittedly I hadn't donated to the Flight Plan due to limited funds but saw this as a way of helping out particularly as it was spread out over 10 months

I am the same, will renew my silver membership for home games, and the chance to get a grand final ticket, usually the only game I ever get to is ANZAC day and I generally buy a ticket for that anyway.

Mine is $60 donation

Re the 'default donation'... an email was sent to all existing members a few weeks ago indicating that this was going to be the case for renewal this year and that we had the option to 'opt out' prior to purchase.  So, in defence of the club, I don't think they are in any way trying to sneak in an extra donation or be deceptive about it - at least that is the way I see it!

Over a week ago, I renewed memberships for myself and the kids and also purchased one for my wife for the first time.  I renewed via phone (after a lengthy hold period of course!) and the guy I spoke to said I would be receiving confirmation emails re all purchases shortly.  I am yet to receive these confirmation emails, though my credit card was charged at the time of the phone call.  Just wondering if anyone else has renewed/purchased via phone (or some other non-online way), and whether they have received confirmation?

Silver this year. Level 1 on the wing at both venues. Elected to sit a bit further back at the G as it’s not as steep. Bring it on!

I went up to the club last Friday and explained why I was cancelling my away game seats. Also discussed Caroline Wilson's sources inside the club and suggested to the guy that if they really exist, we must employ Terry Tate, Office Linebacker. He was unfamiliar with Mr Tate but liked the idea and promised to Youtube him. I funnelled the $135 from the away seats to my Flight Plan donation.

I will not directly give money to any other AFL clubs.

That even goes as far as being sufficiently childish like I was 3 years ago when I walked into a Hyundai dealership at Essendon Fields and walked straight out when I saw the cardboard cutout of Mr Chicken-Wing Eye-Gouger.
