Re the 'default donation'... an email was sent to all existing members a few weeks ago indicating that this was going to be the case for renewal this year and that we had the option to 'opt out' prior to purchase. So, in defence of the club, I don't think they are in any way trying to sneak in an extra donation or be deceptive about it - at least that is the way I see it!
Rather than just un-check that box, they sent a e-mail which no-one's ever going to read?
Have no problem with this approach. People would moan if the club was seen to not do enough active fund raising. Have signed up for another year with the $20 attached. Go Bombers.

Just renewed Hi-Mark for my Wife and I. EFC had $75 each on the invoices for Flight Plan; obviously anyone in Hi-Mark must be loaded.
I don't mind them asking, but I do get a little miffed at putting in on the invoice. Just like when you go to some places and they put the tip on the bill !!!

I opted out for 2 x Hi Mark $75 "optional" donations. If it was optional, I'd have asked for it to go on there. That's so dodgey, what if people dont check their invoices, or just assume it's business as usual for the monthly payment plan? So so bad. I expect a lot of complaints when people jerry to this.
Sure, the smart thing to do would be to read the emails, but do you really expect the optional payment donation to be a default option?
Maybe I'll go around door knocking for the salvos
Me "Good evening kind sir.. would you like to buy a $2 raffle ticket for the homeless?"
Kind sir "Oh yes thank you.. that'd be lovely I'll grab my wallet.I have bad arthritis, please take whatever is owed"
Me "Great, I'll be taking this $50. Have a lovely day"
Squadron/Junior 3 gamer if that's the case. I got one for myself as well as for the sis who is a bit of a youngster at 14. Nice way to make a bit of a monetary contribution as well as get something out of it.
Does anyone know if you can cancel a membership online? Also, if it’s not telling you your next advantage payment is due this month, does this mean you’re not on advantage payments anymore?

Give them a call, very helpful bunch.
And you cannot resign a Membership until after you have been dead for ten seasons. Well that is how Collingwood get so many members

Yeah, seems honest.
Absolute weaselling.
all EFC emails go straight through my junk filter as i never recieve anything of any importance from the club via email other than marketing propaganda, so thanks for the heads up!

<p>EFC Membership created bot: "I LIKE THE WAY SNRUB THINKS!"</p>
I haven't got my membership invoice yet, I was going to give a donation but not if they put it on the invoice in that way! I am the same as many and pretty much ignore most EFC emails
It should be the opposite. Click link to renew same membership as last year - click next, would you like to donate to our debt, have 5 options ($10, $25, $50, other, none), next.
