You also need to consider that the more players we add in the MSD, the less picks we get to use at the ND.

The club simply isn’t trying if they can’t make at least 10 list spots available at the draft

Do people realise if you clipped every touch any of our players have on a given weekend there will be turnovers in there?

Merrett had 4 of them last weekend in probably his best game of the season.

Kicking reminds me of Roberts’, inconsistent but enough to work with.

But he brings speed and endurance which is what we lack, so he will at the very least be adding something to the list.

We’ve taken 9 mid season draft picks over the last 5 years. 2 of them are legitimately good AFL players (sadly one of them not at Essendon), and three others are at the very least getting regular games. I’d probably err on the side of making some more room available.

I would say 3 good players - maybe going early with May.

Durham (2020, 1st round)- good
Massimo (2021, 1st round) - good
May - (2024 first round) - good

El-Hawli - (2023, 1st round) gets a regular game
Blakiston - (2024) gets s a regular games

Liam McMahon (2024, too one dimensional, maybe could have been given more of a go, but Scott preferred Wright/May)

Jaiden Hunter (2022, body)
Menzie (2021, 2nd round) - good vfl player
Oskar Smart (2024, couldn’t kick straight)

years a bit off, because they get added to the previous years draft intake.

I’m still ropable we cut Hunter.

if you aren’t picking a player in the msd who has zero flaws and 100% upside then what’s the point of even doing it

At the AFL draft combine he had a time of 2.96 seconds for the 20m sprint, putting him seventh among the players tested.

For a list that is overall certainly a bit slow / one-paced , this is a useful attribute.

Now, I don’t much watch VFL (especially non Essendon games) but why is Artemis in and out of the Tassie side? Has played maybe three games. His numbers are also nothing to write home about. Can someone explain the hype?
