Mid season draft 2026

Reluctant on basis that we have enough pseudo tall and medium forwards. Toner would be the forward id go for, ready to go, can play deep, wing or HF, nice movement and good aerially.

But Griffin is a good prospect, just not for us imo.

It means he at least has sound decision making skills

He isn’t?

He’s played 6 out of a possible 7 games this year, they rested him 10 days ago vs Southport so he didn’t risk injury for the MSD

Hope we don’t screw this one up!

shows good decision making.

is this another Andy McGrath?

Looks good. Brings us much needed speed, can win a one-on-one, can push up for a goal, seems to be a big game player.

He can play on a wing.

A classic best available choice. Sure his kicking is inconsistent and his defence needs work, but this is the MSD not the national draft.

From reports it seems like Artemis is a done deal.

However, based on what little you get from highlights, plus what those who know a bit more about the players say, I would have liked, in order -

Herbert (Geel VFL not Woodville Herbert)

Griffin

Bamert

Fitzgerald

Annand

Artemis just looks like Roberts & El Hawli, and not even a great version of that.

Artemis fella don’t excited me at all. seems like a vanilla half back.

Can Artemis be a coach and player

I will say Artemis genuine burst of speed is something positive. First 15m of genuine pace I have been hoping for sometime

Don’t know if it’s just tonally how it reads. But seemed like Artemis almost seemed offended by Essendon only meeting with him late or going to Essendon.

As a 19 year old kid probably happy to just be drafted. But not sure on vibes or if a player we need more than say a griffin, Herbert, toner or anand.

Has there ever been anything put out about why Noah Hibbins Hargreaves been overlooked by recruiters last year and not talked about for this mid season. Obviously something recruiters worried about.

I want Herbet
or Fitzgerald
or NHH

Sounded like to me Artemis had a soft spot for Tigers cause they did a lot of ground work. But i would be confident at 6:30pm and his name read out after missing in draft he would be very excited no matter where he goes

I will watch a few 7 second clips and make a decision on my preference.

I’d love Griffin. Competitive beast in our forward line.
