Great to see that Qatar has not only stuck its middle finger up at that imbecile King and her cronies but they are actually going to try and go a step further. Massive game changer going forward
Took me a bit⌠take this youâre a fan of the Virgin / Qatar Airways alliance?
Absolutely. I predicted this would happen too.
King and the fools knocked Qatar back on extra flights and Qatar donât take no for an answer so have gone about it via the back door.
Absolute game changer and Qantas are more than just a tad nervous about it now
It feels like a win win for both carriers. Qatar get the domestic access and Virgin have a deep pocket backer.
I took it for a second that Qatar had done something about Saudi, but was struggling with the female king bitâŚ
Massive win. Qatar will wet lease a stack of aircraft to Virgin to take on some pretty cool routes in the future and go head to head with Qantas. There is a possibility of QSuites being used on domestic Australian routes
Do we really need them domestically? The longest flight we have is about 4 hours.
If they are going to toss a few Virgins way itâs a massive bonus of Virgin want business clientele. At the moment they are losing a heap of Transcon work due to offering an inferior product. Corporate travel is worth big bucks
If itâs competition and brings the prices down then yes from me.
Did they just run off the taxiway and drop the nose wheel into a hole? âLow speed runway excursionâŚâ
I donât think the student pilot will pass their courseâŚ
Yeah, looks like a runway excursion into a drainage culvert.
Being isolated from the riffraff and ferals would make Virgin flights to Bali nicer with a QSuite!
As great as that would be the Bali flights arenât known as the âBogan Expressâ for nothing
For the first few years of the partnership they will wet lease aircraft to add an extra daily Melbourne, Sydney, Brisbane and Perth flight to Doha and slowly build from there. As Qatars new aircraft arrive they should be able to send a few wide bodyâs over to Virgin to filter into the domestic market if they choose.
I have often wondered where all the Bogans came from, always thought it was Perth, but flying to Bali this year with Virgin showed me that Melbourne has a major share. Denpasar Airport waiting to fly home was bogan zoo. Wonder how bad a Jetstar Bali flight is, I bet the flights to Perth are exceptional!
I flown to/from Bali to every Australian major port and loads of ferals on every flight.
Havenât flown Crapstar anywhere for over a decade but imagine they are garbage no matter what. Garuda still offers the best direct flights to Australia and last few have been good but we still prefer to fly non direct on the better airlines
The problem is not with the airlines, it is the sheer weight of numbers of bogans going to Bali in the first place. Balihas long been bogan central, they are drawn to it like a giant magnet. I used to laugh when l asked people if they had been overseas and they replied, âYes, Bali.â I later changed mu POV and reasoned that going to Bali exposed people to some of the experiences travel has to offer. Bali is still a rich source of culture, for its size perhaps the richest source on Earth. So l now view Bali as a good jumping off point, providing people then go further. People are now moving on to Thailand, next will be Vietnam, sixty years ago the go to destination was England.
Most Australians who go to Bali do not leave their Hotel area. Many are too drunk to walk far.
Still interesting culture to see, but changed greatly since I first went there in 1974. The in flux of Javanese didnât help either.
