Missing/crashed planes, and other aviation mis/adventures

And your baggage as well?

SQ are very efficient and it’s their airport so they have set MCT at 40 minutes. Your bags will be transferred over no issue and that is plenty of time for you to get between flights.
They know everybody that’s on every flight and will meet passengers at inbound gate if any issues

Almost funny

Seems the evacuation was uncommanded, passengers just did what they wanted.

Yep, aircraft was perfectly fine. One bloke obviously freaked out and opened the emergency exit and all hell broke loose
As usual the Indonesian authorities are very lax with their protocols too

Bit of an incident at Sydney this afternoon.

They called a Pan Pan Pan climbing out due engine failure. ATC advised parts over the runway.
16l/34R still closed. Stack of delays and diversions with one Scoot 787 low on fuel so pulling out on approach and headed to MEL

There was an interview on the news I caught with a passenger. Plane seemed to struggle to gain altitude after takeoff. Copilot came back to check out the right engine. They circled for a bit and then came back into land. Seemed fairly calm.

Listening in to bits of the ATC it was evident they had a severely damaged engine at V1 and reported that debris were all over 34R and this caused the grass on the right to catch fire

They then did an overweight landing on 34L

Grass looked pretty high, not that grass, so who’s responsible for mowing council or Sydney Airport?
Smoke caused major delays and probably a lot of money for some.

really need to upgrade newcastle

Putting a statue of Icarus at the entry to an airport seems to qualify for this thread… WTF?!?

Newcastle airport is getting a new International terminal which will be completed next year and also a new runway and other infrastructure is being done on the coming years.

Indeed. Where is that?

Outside Tulla Terminal 3.

I’m sure it really helps the aviao-phobics.

They’ll always be limited in terms of capacity won’t they? I can’t see where they’re sticking more runways there unless they were to ditch the air force base, which seems unlikely??

(That said, there are stuff all flights in and out from what I can tell??)

Ha, I have never noticed it. That’s some black comedy.

Extending and upgrading the current runway to Code E standard to handle wide bodies.
Singapore Airlines are looking to fly direct there on completion
