My first thought too - its one of those death traps ā¦
It will buff out. (Worse has probably already been buffed out.)
Good job that I have excellent life insurance as Iāve flown in them dozens of times without incident so Iām due
Itās not really the sort of claim that reassures, though, is it? āMany thousands of flights in these aircraft havenāt ended in a fatal crash.ā
Probably not but Iād get in one tomorrow, that sort of thing doesnāt phase me too much.
Iāve had thousands of flights over the years and even been involved in a light plane crash, Iāve got generations of pilots from both sides of my family and most have them have had an accident of some description so I just donāt really think about it I guess
Well right now Iām at a stopover in Saigon on the way to Munich (and then Sofia) and Iām very glad my first leg was an A350 and the next leg is a B787. ![]()
Whatās the old adage? More people die crossing the road.
Helicopters in general fine, but an R44 no thanks. No point stopping in the middle of the busy road increasing oneās chance of getting hit.
Iām not sure of the old adage, but flying is generally very safe. And the reason itās generally very safe is that people who are responsible for that safety take it very seriously and donāt take it for granted. So for so eone flying. Sure donāt think about it. For someone flying, designing, repairingā¦I want them thinking about it all the time!!
You had a beer or two? ![]()
