Yeah I am in transit to London (and have another flight from there on Wednesday) originating in Melbourne, so it’s in their interest to move me along.

They will probably try to put you on Qantas but you could try to get on Singapore Airlines this evening or even Emirates. I’d be getting on the front foot though because others will be in the same boat

Light aircraft went down in SA as well.
They had to wait around for 3 hours then get on the same plane.

That’s not good at all. Abu Dhabi is a great spot but that’s pretty poor they have put you in Economy. Could they not get Premium Economy on tomorrows BA flight or any other option?
Flying virgin tomorrow for work. Going to just block this thread….
Virgin have a newer and better quality fleet than Qantas.
All aircraft have little niggles that need attention from time to time

Supposedly flying Melbourne to Sydney today on VA. 7am flight delayed to 8.30. Returning tonight if I ever get there
Chaos as per the norm at MEL again this morning. You will be one of probably dozens of cancellations or significant delays unfortunately
I didn’t have any issues on Tuesday, in fact we left early.
Sydney airport had dramas, there was structural issues in the tower and ATC was having significant issues.
