Mlb 2016

Well, the whole posting photos thing ain’t working :frowning:

Jeff Francoeur is following the example of his old teammate, Kelly Johnson, in doing the rounds of the NL East. Johnson has played at all 5 teams (Braves 3 times and Mets twice) plus the Yanks. Francoeur just needs the Nats now to complete the set. He’s been traded to the Marlins with Texas involved. Atlanta get 2 minor leaguers, a shortstop and a catcher.

Dirty Sanchez on a tear for the Yanks. Another big game today as they spank the Os.

Quite a week for the Giants. Went in to LA needing to get a few wins to stay in touch. Lost Bum’s start pretty easily. Then Cueto pitched a gem giving up just the 1 run but we couldn’t score at all. All of a sudden we are 3 back. Comes to the 3rd game of the series and Matt Moore (who we got by trading clubhouse favorite Matt Duffy and who had struggled mightily in his 4 starts so far) pitched the best game of his career. Took a no-hitter well into the 9th and then with 2 outs… Seeger hits a ■■■■■■ bloop single to ruin it. We won 4-0 regardless.

AN, your Braves took game 2 yesterday on the back of Kemp’s 3 run HR but today was another story.

We remain 2 back of LA who took the series against the Cubs.

Given we have 4 games in Chicago coming up I reckon a wildcard is probably our only option of making the playoffs. And, wouldn’t you know it, the Pirates are right back in it. It could end up being a replay of 2014 with us having to make a trip up to Pittsburgh for the one game wildcard playoff!

Rock Bottom.

Yep, my Giants have hit it. We played 4 playoff calibre games against the Cubs. Each game decided by just 1 run. We could easily have won 3 of 4. Instead we lost 3 of 4.

Then the Rockies score 6 in one inning yesterday (and thats all they scored) to shut us out.

Even-year magic is on fumes folks. This might be all she wrote.

Yankees now 6 straight and 1 win behind in the wild card race.

Not too many would have predicted this after all the mid season trades.

Yep, 7 straight now and only 0.5 out of the WC spot and 3 games off top of the Div. Huge 3 games against the Bums coming up and then all of our final 17 games are against divisional rivals so still a chance to sneak in

Three way tie for the Wildcard spot in the NL…go Cards

Yankees now 3.5 behind in the wildcard with 12 to play.

Braves’ form has then now second bottom in the MLB and only 3 games or so behind 3 others. Should avoid the ignominy of a 100 loss season. The Twins will be hard-pressed to.

Khris Davis has been one of the very few shining lights for us this season. The first player we have had hit over 40 homers in the regular season for over 15 years, since Giambi left in 2000.

You watch us let him leave in FA because our owners tighter than a fish’s A-Hole.

Red Sox are on a streak… the magic number is 8

Cards got spanked

What a catch by Inciarte of AN’s Braves to steal a game winning HR from Mets’ Cespedes. Thank you! Helped by G-men stay in the 3-way tie.

Tragic news coming out of the Marlins with Jose Fernandez killed in a boating accident.
24 years old, fled Cuba to go to the states and play baseball. On the boat on the way over from Cuba when he was 15, someone fell in the water. Without knowing he jumped in and saved her. It was his mother.
Think there was some unsuccessful attempts to make it over too.
Pitched his greatest game last week and only just announced to friends last week that his girlfriend was pregnant.
Marlins game has been cancelled today, they were all a mess at a press conference earlier.

That’s tragic

Shocker of a story.

Sad news

Arguably the most talented pitcher in baseball behind Kershaw and just 24 as well.

Still in shock over this.

Sets the Marlins back 10 years.

Devastating loss for the Marlins and obviously much more for Fernandez’s family. Leaves behind a pregnant girlfriend. Really sad…

RED SOX Win the AL East!!! SICK!!
