Quiet you
4-0 now and Keuchel pulled
Sanchez goes deep. Solo shot in the 7th to make it 5-0.
Yankee Stadium is rockinâ!
We are taking a lead back to Houston
Yeah baby
Cubs lead Dodgers 3-2 mid 8
5 solo shots
Contreras, Baez (2) vs Bellinger and Turner
Dodgers through
Dodgers up 7-0 mid 3
Kiki Hernandez with 2 homers including a grand slam
9-1 bottom 5
Forsythe 2-run double
Bryant solo homer
Hernandez now with a third homer
11-1 in the 8th
One thing thatâs intrigued me in this post-season is calling the Yankees the Baby Bombers
From today and yesterdayâs starting nines, theyâre the third oldest of the last four teams.
Last yearâs Cubs were ridiculously young with David Ross, the backup catcher, distorting the numbers.
Yanks have Judge, Sanchez and Bird 25 or under
Dodgers have a more even spread with only their Aaron Francis - Justin Turner - over 30.
Cubs are the youngest with only one starter over 30 and 6 25 or under
Astros are distorted by Beltranâs 40 while Gurriel and McCann are 33
Anyway, hope the Dons have taken out a copyright on Baby Bombers for our 3 incarnations.
Astros up 3-0 and with us looking absolutely clueless against Verlander it appears that we are heading to game 7
Not so fast.
2 on, 1 out, top 7
And Verlander was 3-0 against Hicks before striking him out on 10 pitches
Should of been bases loaded with none out but another home town call went their way.
Frazier was inches away from levelling it
Yanks should never complain about home town calls.
Verlander out and Judge hits Peacock for a huge homer.
Massive bomb
Altuve responds. Not huge, but far enough.
Itâs over now.
They have won 3 games this series with 2 being down to Verlander pitching the lights out.
He wonât be there tomorrow to drag them over the line
Stros with the chance to break it wide open. Correa and Gurriel follow Altuve with a double and a single. Still no outs.
Bregman doubles them both in. Sanchez might have tagged out the second runner but dropped the throw. Scored as an error on the shortstopâs throw.
Really want the Yankees to win tomorrow.
With that said, if the Astros get thru my wife and I will be in Houston the same dates as game 6 and 7 of the World Series. Doubt we could get or afford tickets, but being in town for something like that would still be pretty cool.
Gattis homered in the 4th to put the Astros up
And a brilliant throw by Bregman and equally good tag by McCann nabbed Bird at home.
Morton has gone five scoreless and will be out.
Altuve has just homered to put the Stros 2 up. For a little fella, he packs a lot of punch.
And a 2-run 2-out 2-bagger by McCann puts them up 4-0
We are in deep strife. Girardi has lost the plot
