MLB 2019

What would you give up to get Bum + one or two of Tony Watson, Sam Dyson, Will Smith? Giants have the best bullpen in the league (minus Ty Blach’s awfulness yesterday).

The current bullpen. No way anyone would be getting a sniff of Albies, Acuña, Fried, Wright, Soroka etc.

You can have our current pen…all of them.

They shouldn’t give up the future for a shot at the present, particularly in the toughest division in the majors.

NO BUM FOR YOU!

Giants come from 0-8 down to beat the Reds in extra innings 12-11. Amazing.

Michael Chavis is a rookie to keep an eye on

Red Sox punishing Seattle.

Perfect example the last two days of how important pitching is.

Yesterday, Cardinals beat the Braves 14-3 with Foltynewicz pitching. Early runs, walks putting men on base.

Today, a young guy in Mike Soroka pitches…Braves win 4-0. Same batting line-ups, different pitchers.

Braves brought up young 3B Austin Riley to play LF. He’s been asked for by everyone wanting to trade with Atlanta, much as Acuña was last year. Second at-bat, homers 438 feet to left centre.

Third base isn’t available because of Josh Donaldson, so they’ve moved Acuña to centre and Riley to left. Doesn’t really augur well for Ender Inciarte whose hitting has dropped off, and dropped from leadoff to eighth.

Charlie Culberson came off the bench late for a 2-run HR.

A few double figures scores today…

Braves 10-2 over Cards including 3-4 from Riley with a double that missed being a homer by an inch.
Brewers 11-3 over Phils
A’s 16-1 over Rangers
Tribe 14-7 over O’s
Twins 11-6 over Mariners

Only 9 games played.

Braves 10-0 over the Brewers. You are right @Alan_Noonan_10, can bat, pitching is a worry…

Ended 12-8 with 3 relief pitchers surrendering walks and hits like they’re going out of fashion.

4 unearned runs in the 9th after a Swanson error extended the game.

Yanks came from 3-1 down in the 9th to beat the Rays 4-3.

Cubs beating the Nats 14-4. Bryant with 3 homers.

Just caught the last innings whilst having breakfast and very happy. To tie it up off a wayward pitch was a bit lucky but I’ll take it

Yanks top of the AL east despite all their injuries

They have an amazing bench. Hopefully, if they want Bum, the Giants can get a few.

You’d reckon a few of those guys like Maybin and Morales will be gone once the injuries heal.

astros just doing what they do well…3 in the 8th to get over the red sox …still think we are a pitcher short in the starting rotation!

Big walk-off homer by Freddie Freeman in the 10th for a 4-3 win over the Brewers.

Austin Riley with a 2-run homer making him 8 for 15 in his first 4 games. Not seeing out many games though as they throw in Charlie Culberson into left field for late inning defence.

Rays beat the Yanks 2-1 and Stros beat the BoSox 7-3.

Mike Trout with a big 250th homer. Second youngest ever at 27 to reach 250.

astros get over the sox again…

our bull pen is going gang busters…

ryan pressley set a new record of 39 scorless innings…

hopefully yordan alvarez gets a call up shortly

Now let’s take a look at Alvarez’s numbers. A much more positive story, in fact astounding. His slash line in the 36 games he’s played is an unparalleled .410/.497/.903 and an OPS of 1.400. When I say unparalleled, I’m not exaggerating, he leads the Pacific Coast League in every one of those numbers.

The 21-year-old also leads the league with 36 Rs, 53 RBIs, and 17 HRs, and that’s in just 36 games

Not many gaps in Astros position players? Left field selection?

Braves DFA’ed Jonny Venters. I know he’s had 3 Tommy Johns but you can’t have a reliever who’s there just to face left-handers give up an ERA of 17 plus. Brought back Jerry Blevins whom they’d DFA’ed a few days earlier to reinstate Venters.

tyler white the only 1 under pressure…not offering much to the line up…

Brantley, Springer, Reddick outfield
Gurriel, Altuve, Correa, Bregman infield

Does he catch?
