Most Famous Person you have Met

Was discussing this with Mrs diggers earlier today. She once met and hung out for a while with Shirl from A Country Practice whilst waiting to board a plane at Sydney Airport. Best I had was once standing a couple of feet from Barry Gibb at the Burswood Casino in the late 80’s but I’m not sure that really qualifies as we didn’t actually speak but he was just there.

Fark.
Heaps
All sorts.

Billy Joel
Elton John
Peter Brock
Weary Dunlop
Bob Hawke

That’ll do for now.

Kevin Sheedy

Yeah, given my current and previous line of work - farkin heaps. Too many to mention, actually.
A few notables - the Dalai Lama, David Attenborough, Edward Debono, Elton John, Prince Charles, Steve Jobs, tons of politicians, oodles of entertainers and singers. Haha - Reboot - all of yours except Weary. That would have been nice.

Weary was a mate of my boss. They were POW’s together.

Tommy Woodcock was another interesting old timer I might met through him.

You met the 15th Dalai Lama?

No, the 14th.

Oh, silly me.

Ok. Give it up. What do you do?

Discounting sportsmen and band autograph signings Kevin Rudd is the first that pops to mind (2009 YVMDFL grand final)
Played football with Jason Ball of political/Pride Cup/Round fame
(Literally) bumped into Dean Geyer in LA but he’s barely a D list celebrity
For the most part I really haven’t hung out in crowds/places where I’d be likely to see or meet someone ‘famous’

I’d rather drink a warm bucket of bile.

I sat next to Mrs Walker, Texas Ranger, (Sheree P Wilson) on a flight from Dallas-Fort Worth to LAX where she was going for a screen test.

I’d never seen Walker, TR at the time, and she said she’d been in Dallas too. I never watched that either.

I’ve met Bomb_Doe too. And bugman and megz.

And Gideon Haigh, at our cricket club’s centenary night. We folded a year or two later. Better than East Caulfield who folded after 99 years.

Kylie Minogue, in late 1986/early 1987, Burke Rd Camberwell, we were on our way to The Armadale Hotel to see the band Looney Tunes…or something like that its all very vague.

Met that Koala bloke as well
