MotoGp. 2024 . Marquez on a Ducati

Miller finally finding some pace albeit in Q1

Absolute clinic from Pecco on a track that they’ve managed to completely fark up. It’s almost certain that Ducati are improving his bike and mysteriously not passing those improvements on to Martin for some reason…lol.

Elsewhere, I just read that BMW has purchased all of the bike and track data from Suzuki’s final year in Moto Gp. Unfortunately, this doesn’t mean that Suzuki is returning to the competition, but it does make it very very likely that BMW are eyeing off the 2027 season with the new engine designs coming in.

3 years in the making

Alex Marquez hands Martin a big championship lead by squashing Bagnaia under his bike. Pecco is extremely fortunate if he’s sustained no serious injuries from that.

The Aragon track remains one of the worst, most grip compromised venues of the year. You’re seriously better off qualifying in 4th , and maybe even 7th, than in 3rd, because it puts you out on the dirty section of the track. It’s crazy.

Incredible that he walked away, horrendous crash.

Oh, and this entire front tyre pressure regulation is complete ■■■■■■■ bullshit. Absolute lunacy. As if the riders aren’t having enough trouble with grip without having to try to predict how/when they might get caught in traffic. Earlier in the season we saw M Marquez wanting to be overtaken !! FFS, it’s completely insane.

One day when I have a second to catch my breath I’ll post some info and photos from our trip. 27 mountain passes in the Swiss & Austrian Alps and the Dolomites and more! Local restaurants, food wine, food, wine, castles, cafes, villages, towns, museums…… It’s been beyond amazing and has exceeded every expectation that I had.
We’re now in Rimini (wow!) and off to the Misano MotoGP tomorrow.

Did you get anything to eat and drink like food and wine from local cafes? Sounds like a great trip, some of those mountain passes would be great on a bike.
What have you hired to ride?

We went with Maverik motorcycle tours. It’s run by Sandro, an Italian/Australian who spends half his year in Italy and half in Australia. He is a passionate motorcycle man and provides a unique experience of his local culture along with the most spectacular motorcycle roads in the area. It truly was an incredible trip…(still is!)
He has a relationship with Verona Ducati where the bikes are sourced, but he can also get BMW’s if preferred. (But when in Italy….) We rode a Multistrada V4 Grand Tour. It had all the bells and whistles, including automatic lowering which helped while mounting 2 up as well as when stopped. Check out his website if you’re interested- I truly cannot recommend highly enough. We’re looking to head back next year for the Swiss tour. (Maverik without the c) :+1:
Heading off to the track now…will post some pics.

We’re a lot closer to the action than the phone photo looks. Can see turns 1,2,3,4,5 &6.
Race start should be very interesting.

We’re at the track, just behind the Deniz Oncu fan club.
Expecting a big crowd today. Very warm but we’re up high, can see the sea and have a nice breeze coming in.
Looking forward to the sprint race. :+1:
