MUSIC GENRE - Punk - TOP 10 bands

I’m a massive fan of OFF!

I’ve seen them a few times, and they just insane.

Keith Morris still has it. To be touring as Black flag with out him (or Rollins) is just stupid. One of my mates went to see Greg Gin’s ‘Black Flag’, and said people were walking out. They sounded really terrible.

The best bit of this FLAG clip is Nick Oliveri in the front row, losing his sh*t.

Thoughts on the new AFI album? I know their older stuff is better, faster and heavier etc. but this one is growing on me. Spotify

I was never much of a fan of AFI tbh.

Emo just wasn’t my thing.

You’re listening to the wrong AFI

Even the earlier stuff was way too serious and dark. I really didn’t like Havok’s voice tbh.

Only 18 months (2 years?) ago CJ Ramone toured Australia.

Ramones are my all time favourite. Named my kid after the band… which is abit nuts.

I’ll never see them, I think I was 7 years old when they toured Australia.
I’ve seen Marky Ramone and all that……

But it was such a treat to see CJ playing Ramones songs…. While it will never be The Ramones, it was such an amazing night.

Probably the band I’ve seen more than any. Mainly because they played locally a lot. Best Aussie punk band in my opinion was one inch punch or later known as mid youth crisis. https://youtu.be/4HDHl-E2834

Great band

We could be seperate day birth. Bodyjar was everywhere for a while and every gig a lot of fun, but OIP was just the band that really left a mark.

This was a walk down memory, felt like I was there back in the mid-late ‘90s all over again. Thanks for sharing, played most of their best tracks, the usual covers, and sound was solid even though the camera work was a bit rough.

Cam’s unfortunately a mad Hawks fan but still a ripper bloke, has his skate shop up in Greensborough these days. A good mate of mine is good mates with him and Grant, used to have sessions at the Labour In Vain a lot back in the day, early 2000’s.

Yes, they were always happy to say gday to a few punters and have a beer after a gig.

Will have to check out the skateshop some time. What a life, play in a band, tour the world, open a skateshop.

Which one?

I saw them at the Big Day Out in 95 maybe?

When I was in New York last in Nov 2019 I went to CBGBs only to realise it was now a clothing shop. I was gutted.

Ramones were so great at that BDO, the only chance I had to see them. 1994.

Only time I saw them was also the 94 BDO. They were brilliant. Always found it amusing that Bjork came on between them and Soundgarden. Kind of a lull before Soundgarden blew out the eardums.
