Yeah, they were on Chrysalis, which makes it all the more perplexing. The Divinyls catalogue on CD has historically been atrocious - it wasn’t just What A Life that was buggerised. For many years, the Desperate CD had some of the tracks replaced with remixed versions of Monkey Grip tracks, and a reshuffled sequence.
To be honest, none of the remixing was quite as offensive as that Semantics US abortion. It’s more that it’s just… unnecessary…
They have a reason behind getting them… mainly because there is not a decent CD version of them…

I really love Let’s Go. I was a pre-teen when I first heard it, and I just took it as a cool, fun, catchy little pop song, but I feel like I rate it more the older I get.
Tonight, She Comes is lovely. Makes me feel good.
Never really got their other hits, especially Best Friend’s Girl. I know some people love that song, but I’m just…eh…
Shake It Up is my next favourite, but to me it’s pretty disposable. Never listened to their albums.

I’ve always thought the career of The Cars isn’t entirely well represented by the froth and bubble (and chronic overproduction) of their 80’s output.
Stuff like You Might Think, Tonight She Comes, Magic and Hello Again is so buffed and glossed by 80’s sheen to be rendered completely lightweight. Drive is a pleasant song, but it’s just way overproduced.
Their back-catalogue (from Candy-O back) is a fair bit more meaty.
Anyway, Just What I Needed, Let’s Go and this are probably my favourites of theirs…
More importantly though, someone really needs to explain to the world how Ric Ocasek managed to pull Paulina Porizkova…
